INSTALLATION
Diagram Description: The diagram shows the rear panel of the Nakamichi 12V High Power Bass Amplifier with numbered connection points and controls.
- POWER(GND): Must be connected to the vehicle's chassis with a perfect electrical connection (remove paint to reveal bare metal if necessary) and with the ground cable.
- +12V: Connect the +12V power supply from the car battery with the power cable. (Note: power connections).
- REMOTE: Connect the electrical aerial output or the remote output of your radio with the remote cable.
- FUSE: Protects the unit from damage caused by dangerous current volume.
- POWER INDICATOR LIGHT
- LEVEL: Adjusts the input gain of the unit to accept different levels of signal inputs.
- CROSSOVER: Offers two optional modes for the crossover: FULL, L.P.F.
- FILTER: Adjusts L.P.F frequencies, controlling the amplifier's frequency between 40Hz and 250Hz.
- INPUT(R): Connect to the RCA output of the car radio with the RCA cable.
- INPUT(L): Connect to the RCA output of the car radio with the RCA cable.
Diagram Description: This diagram illustrates the wiring connections for the Nakamichi amplifier. It shows the remote cable connecting to the head unit and the amplifier, the RCA cable for signal input, and the ground and power cables connecting to the car battery and chassis. The power connections detail how to connect to the battery, an accessory terminal, or an ignition switch for power.
* Place the fuse in the power supply lead as close as possible to the car battery.
Mount The Subwoofer Box Inside The Trunk.
- Decide the best location that suits your automobile and space. The best and most secure location for optimum sound quality is behind the rear seats, in the trunk floor.
- To aid heat dissipation, do not surround the unit; ensure smooth air convection to reduce working temperature.
- Remark: It can be difficult to avoid jolts or scram for automobiles while running. Laying the box firmly is suggested, possibly using a bandage to fix it (bandage not included, purchase separately). Ensure the bass tube is clear.
Adjusting The Sound Level
- Turn the level controls of the amplifier to their minimum positions. Choose music with high dynamic content that you like and are familiar with, as this will be most often used in the system.
- Turn the unit up to its highest undistorted output level. If test equipment is unavailable, this point is typically between 3/4 to full volume, depending on the source unit's quality. Listen for audible distortion. If distortion is present, reduce the source unit's volume until undistorted output is achieved. Maintain this volume setting during system tuning.
- Continuous exposure to sound pressure levels over 100dB can cause permanent hearing loss. High-powered automotive sound systems can generate sound pressure levels exceeding 130dB. When playing your system at high levels, use hearing protection and avoid long-term exposure.
