Important Safety Instructions
When using electrical products, basic precautions should always be followed, including:
- Read and follow all safety instructions.
- Do not use seasonal products outdoors unless marked suitable for indoor and outdoor use. For outdoor applications, connect to a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupting (GFCI) outlet. Contact a qualified electrician if a GFCI outlet is not provided.
- This seasonal use product is not intended for permanent installation or use.
- Do not mount or place near gas or electric heaters, fireplaces, candles, or other similar heat sources.
- Do not secure the wiring with staples or nails, or place on sharp hooks or nails.
- Do not let lamps rest on the supply cord or any wire.
- Unplug the product when leaving the house, when retiring for the night, or if left unattended.
- This is an electric product, not a toy! To avoid risk of fire, burns, personal injury, and electric shock, it should not be played with or placed where small children can reach it.
- Do not use this product for other than its intended use.
- Do not hang ornaments or other objects from the cord, wire, or light string.
- Do not close doors or windows on the product or extension cords, as this may damage the wire insulation.
- Do not cover the product with cloth, paper, or any material not part of the product when in use.
- This product is equipped with push-in type lamps. Do not twist lamps.
- This product employs overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit situation. If the fuse blows, unplug the product from the outlet and any attached strings or products. Replace the fuse according to user servicing instructions (follow product marking for proper fuse rating) and check the product. If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present, and the product should be discarded.
- Read and follow all instructions on the product or provided with the product.
- Save these instructions.
Use and Care Instructions
- When placing the product on a live tree, ensure the tree is well-maintained and fresh. Do not use on live trees with brown or easily breakable needles. Keep the tree holder filled with water.
- If the product is placed on a tree, the tree should be well secured and stable.
- Before using or reusing, inspect the product carefully. Discard any products with cut, damaged, or frayed wire insulation or cords, cracks in lampholders or enclosures, loose connections, or exposed copper wire.
- When storing the product, carefully remove it from wherever it is placed (including tree branches or bushes) to avoid undue strain or stress on the product conductors, connections, and wires.
- When not in use, store neatly in a cool, dry location protected from sunlight.
User Servicing Instructions
Replace the Fuse
- Grasp the plug and remove it from the receptacle or other outlet device. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord.
- Using a flathead screwdriver, open the fuse cover. Slide open the fuse access cover on top of the attachment plug towards the blades.
- Remove fuses carefully.
- Risk of fire. Replace fuse only with a 3 Amp, 125 Volt fuse (provided with product).
- Close the fuse cover. Slide the fuse access cover on top of the attachment plug closed.
- Risk of fire. Do not replace the attachment plug. It contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be removed. Discard the product if the attachment plug is damaged.
Replace the Lamp
- Grasp the plug and remove it from the receptacle or other outlet device. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord.
- Pull the lamp and plastic base straight out of the lampholder.
- Replace the lamp with only a 3.3 Volt, 0.066 Watt, LED type lamp (provided with product).
- If the new lamp base does not fit the lampholder, follow these steps:
- Remove the base of the burned-out lamp by straightening the lamp leads and gently pulling the lamp out.
- Thread the leads of the new lamp through the holes in the old base, with one lead in each hole.
- After the lamp is fully inserted into the base, bend each lead up, like the other lamps in the light set, so that the leads touch the contacts inside the lampholder.
Cautions
- This lighting string is rated 12 Watts (0.1 Amps); do not overload.
- Replace lamps only with the 3.3 Volt, 0.066 Watt spare lamps provided with the product.
- Risk of fire. This product does not contain lamp shunts, which allow the product to operate if one lamp burns out. Do not replace lamps with anything other than the spare lamps provided with this product.
