Aiwa RMD-77 FM Stereo Multiband SW/MW/LW DSP Receiver

This document provides a quick guide to operating your Aiwa RMD-77 receiver.

The package typically includes the Aiwa RMD-77 receiver and a quick guide.

03. Power On / Off

Press the Power button (1) once to turn the receiver ON. Press it again to turn it OFF.

04. Key Lock Function

Press and hold the Display / Key Lock button (2) for 2 seconds to activate or deactivate the key lock.

05. Display Lighting

Press the LIGHT / SNOOZE button (3) for 1 second for temporary lighting, or 2 seconds for permanent lighting. Press it again for 1 second to turn the light off.

06. Using the Antenna

For FM and SW reception, extend the telescopic antenna (18). For MW and LW reception, the internal ferrite bar antenna is used.

07. Tuning Stations with ETM (Easy Tuning Mode)

Press the ETM button (4) after selecting the desired band (FM, MW/LW, or SW) using the respective band buttons (7, 8, or 9). The receiver will automatically scan and store available stations.

08. Tune Stations Manually

Select the desired band (FM, MW/LW, or SW) using buttons (7, 8, or 9). Use the Tuning knob (19) to manually tune to a station.

09. Tune Stations with 5 Seconds of Listening (VM/VF)

Select the desired band. Press the VM/VF button (5) for 2 seconds to activate this mode. The receiver will scan and play each station for 5 seconds before moving to the next.

10. Find a Station by Frequency Number

Select the desired band. Use the numeric keypad (12) to enter the desired frequency. The receiver will tune to that frequency.

11. Mute / Unmute Key Tone

Press the M / Button (11) once to mute or unmute the key tone.

12. Search for Stored Stations

Select the desired band. Use the numeric keypad (12) to enter the preset memory number of the station you want to listen to.

13. Store Stations with ATS (Auto Tuning Storage)

Select the desired band (FM, MW/LW, or SW). Press and hold the corresponding band button (7, 8, or 9) for 2 seconds. The receiver will automatically scan and store available stations.

14. Display Mode with Radio Off / On

Press the LIGHT / SNOOZE button (3) to cycle through display modes when the radio is off or on.

15. Store Stations Manually

Tune to the desired station. Press the M / Button (11) once to memorize the station. Press it again to confirm.

16. Delete a Memory Manually

Select the desired band. Press the VM/VF button (5) for 1 second. Press the Delete button (10) once to delete the current station. Press it again to confirm deletion.

17. Delete a Memory Semi-Automatically

Select the desired band. Press the VM/VF button (5) for 1 second. Press the Delete button (10) once to initiate semi-automatic deletion.

18. Delete All Stored Stations

Press and hold the Delete button (10) for 3 seconds to delete all stored stations.

19. Sleep Function

Press the LIGHT / SNOOZE button (3) three times to activate the sleep timer. Use the Tuning knob (19) to set the sleep duration from 0 to 120 seconds.

20. Stop Alarm / Alarm On / Off

Press the ALARM button (14) once to stop an active alarm. Press and hold the ALARM button (14) for 1 second to turn the alarm ON or OFF.

21. Adjust the Clock / Option: With the Keyboard

Press and hold the TIME button (13) for 2 seconds. Use the numeric keypad (12) to set the hour and minutes.

22. Set the Buzzer Alarm

Press and hold the ALARM button (14) for 2 seconds. Use the numeric keypad (12) to set the alarm time.

23. Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the LIGHT / SNOOZE button (3) to activate the snooze function (typically 5 minutes).

24. Temperature

Press the LIGHT / SNOOZE button (3) to display the temperature. Press it again to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

25. Set the Radio Alarm

Tune to the desired station. Press the M / Button (11) to memorize the station. Then, press and hold the ALARM button (14) for 2 seconds to set the radio alarm to play that station.

26. Frequency Range Adjustment

Press the respective band buttons (7, 8, or 9) to select FM, MW, or LW. Press and hold the band button for 2 seconds to toggle the frequency range setting ON or OFF.

27. FM Stereo / Bandwidth

Press the FM ST. / AM BW button (6) to toggle FM stereo reception ON or OFF. For AM bands, this button adjusts the bandwidth (6, 4, 3, 2, or 1 kHz).

28. On / Off Charging Function

Press the M / Button (11) once to turn the charging function ON or OFF.

29. Smart Charging Function (Rechargeable Batteries Only)

Ensure rechargeable batteries are installed. Press the M / Button (11) once to activate smart charging. The display will show the charging progress (0-99%).

30. Battery-Free Operation

This feature may refer to operating the device via USB power or other external power sources when batteries are not used.
