System Diagram
The system includes a DC back-up pump, float switch, clamp, 15 AMP fuse, and a DC charger. The float switch is connected to the DC pump via a white lead and a splicer. The DC pump has a white lead to the float and a black lead to positive. The DC charger has a green lead to the float switch and a white lead to positive. A battery box is shown, which houses a 12 Volt marine battery (supplied by user). The battery box has a black lead to negative.
Performance Data
Total Dynamic Head vs. Flow Per Minute
MODEL | 507 | ||
---|---|---|---|
Feet | Meters | Gal. | Liters |
5 | 1.5 | 23.0 | 87.1 |
10 | 3.0 | 15.0 | 56.8 |
15 | 4.6 | 5.0 | 18.9 |
Shut-off Head: | 17.5 ft (5.3 m) |
Note: Above performance chart based upon actual performance achieved with a 12 Volt deep-cycle battery. Some manufacturers publish performance data based upon D.C. Pump testing according to Marine Industry standards which can reflect a performance of 40%-80% higher than actual battery powered performance.
Minimum battery requirements: deep-cycle, size 27, 175 minute reserve capacity.
Pump Performance Curve
A graph shows Total Dynamic Head on the Y-axis (from 0 to 18) and Flow Per Minute (Gallons and Liters) on the X-axis (from 0 to 80 GPM / 0 to 200 LPM). The curve starts at approximately 17.5 feet at 0 GPM and decreases as flow increases, reaching approximately 5 feet at 20 GPM.
Battery Life
The estimated life of a fully charged (175 minute reserve capacity) battery when the pump is operating continuously is approximately 7 1/2 hours. Example: the pump's capacity at 10' (3 m) head is 900 GPH (3,407 LPH). Most backup systems require intermittent pump operation. The system will provide protection for extended periods of time, dependent upon stop-start requirements.
Performance Data
Pump performance is based on the use of a fully-charged, 12 volt, (200-minute reserve capacity) deep-cycle battery with no deficiency that is less than two years old.
Aquanot® Battery Options
- Size 31 "Wet" P/N 10-0761 (69 lbs./31 kg) (shipped via truckline only) 200 minute reserve capacity
- Size 27 "AGM" P/N 10-1450 (66 lbs./30 kg) 175-minute reserve capacity
