Important Notes
- The water tubing is built into the fountain topper. Handle the water tube with care; detaching it will damage the unit and void the warranty.
- Familiarize yourself with the flow control valve on the pump (marked with '+' for maximum and '-' for minimum). This may need to be adjusted to achieve optimal water flow.
- A rattling noise inside the fountain may occur due to loose pieces of casting material from the manufacturing process.
Assembly Instructions
- Place the bottom bowl onto the pedestal and twist to lock it in place.
- Place the electric submersible pump in the center of the bottom bowl. Run the power cord through the built-in pipe and beneath the groove in the bottom of the pedestal.
- Align the column with the bottom bowl and twist to lock it in place.
- Align the middle bowl on the column and twist to lock it in place.
- Run the water tube that is built into the topper through the top tier, then twist to lock the topper onto the top tier.
- Run the water tube through the middle bowl. Align the assembled top with the middle bowl and twist to lock it in place.
- Firmly connect the water tube to the pump.
- Install the pump access panel.
- Fill each tier with enough water to keep the pump fully submerged during operation. Approximately 10 gallons (37.8L) are needed.
- Plug the power cord into a properly grounded GFCI outlet.
Care & Maintenance
- Some splashing may occur. Adjust the pump's flow rate if the water flow is too low or too high.
- In certain climates and weather conditions, water evaporation may increase, requiring more frequent refilling. Check water levels frequently, especially during high temperatures, wind, and prolonged direct sunlight, to ensure the pump remains submerged. Never allow the pump to run dry, as this will burn out the motor.
- Use only water in this fountain. Distilled water can help prevent mineral buildup but is not required. Tap water is acceptable, but avoid heavily chlorinated water, which may damage the fountain's finish and the pump.
- Over time, the finish may gradually mellow in color due to sun exposure. This is a natural aging process and not a cause for return.
- Periodically change the water to keep the fountain and pump clean. Remove scale and buildup regularly.
- DO NOT use harmful additives such as bleach or chlorine.
- DO NOT use abrasive materials to scrub the fountain.
- DO NOT use a pressure washer to clean the fountain.
- Always unplug the power supply before cleaning and maintaining the fountain and pump. Handle the pump by its body, never by the power cord.
- During freezing weather, drain the fountain, disconnect the pump, and store them indoors. Allowing ice to form can damage the fountain (e.g., cracking) and the pump.
WARNING: The one-year warranty does not cover damages or defects caused by the application of chemical treatments, protective coatings, touch-up paint, or cleaning products.
Troubleshooting
- Water not flowing: Ensure the pump is fully submerged. Add water if necessary. Air bubbles trapped in the pump can prevent circulation. Unplug the power supply for a few moments and plug it back in.
- Adjusting flow rate: Check the flow control on the pump body; it may need adjustment for the desired water flow rate.
- Obstructions: Inspect the pump and tubing for any blockages.
- Pump noise: Noise can be caused by trapped air, low water level, or the pump being too close to the fountain walls. While the pump is submerged, gently tap it to release trapped air. Adding water or repositioning the pump may also reduce noise.
- Power outlet issues: Check that the power outlet is working. Consult a certified electrician if unsure about electrical connections.
Important Safety Information
Fountains may splash or leak. Always protect surfaces that can be damaged by water. Do not use the fountain in areas that could be damaged by water splashes or leaks.
Prevent water loss or damage to electrical sockets by ensuring the power cord has a drip loop. The diagram shows a visual representation of a drip loop; power cord access and adapter may vary by fountain.
- Keep the fountain out of reach of children and pets.
- Ensure the power cord is away from traffic areas.
- Keep the power cord away from all heat sources. Do not use electrical cords in areas with high temperatures.
- Check the water level frequently to ensure the pump remains fully submerged. Never allow the pump to run dry, as this will burn out the motor.
- Always unplug the power supply before cleaning and maintaining the fountain and pump.
- Always empty and store the fountain and pump indoors during freezing weather.
Any modification to the product or failure to follow recommended care will void the product warranty.
