Installation
All steps should be carried out carefully by a competent adult, taking into consideration applicable safety regulations. Contact DoorBird directly or seek advice from a competent specialist if you have questions.
Ensure that all wires used for the installation are undamaged along their entire length and approved for this type of use.
Step 1: Switching Off Power
Switch off the power to all wires leading to the assembly location, e.g., the door chime, electric door opener, power supply unit for the device, etc.
Step 2: Determining the Assembly Location
The device is IP30 certified (not water-proof). Please make sure to place the device into a suitable, non-mobile radio interfering housing if you intend to use it outdoors.
The network cable between the device and the Switch/Internet Router can have a maximum length of 80 meters / 262 feet.
Step 3: Mounting the Device
The device can be mounted on the wall using the supplied wall mount holes, screws, and dowels, or on a DIN rail using the supplied DIN rail adapter.
Option 1: Wall Mounting
Ensure not to hit any objects (e.g., cables) when drilling the holes.
If the wall is not made of wood, drill dowel holes 5 mm (0.196 in) in diameter and insert the provided dowels. If the wall is made of wood, dowels are usually not required. Special dowels for insulating walls (e.g., Fischer insulating dowels) are available; consult your insulating material manufacturer for recommendations.
Visual description: A diagram shows drilling holes into a wall, inserting dowels, and attaching the device with screws.
Option 2: DIN Rail Mounting
The device can be mounted on a DIN rail. Use the DIN rail adapter on the back of the unit.
Visual description: A diagram shows the device being attached to a DIN rail via its adapter.
Step 4: Power Supply
The device can be powered using the enclosed DoorBird power supply unit. The device does not use battery power.
NOTICE: Disconnect all other DoorBird devices in the network from the power supply before commissioning the DoorBird Gigabit High-PoE-Injector A1093.
NOTICE: Do not plug the power supply unit into the wall socket yet. Only use the provided power supply unit or a separately available DIN rail power supply unit, as these are specially stabilized electrically and equipped with integrated audio interference reduction. Other power supply units may damage the device or cause poor transmission quality.
Step 5: Connecting the Device
Cables and wires can be connected conveniently and safely via the labeled screw connection terminals. Connect all necessary cables and wires to the device.
