Location of Buttons
The front panel of the Blaupunkt Salto 4011 features numerous buttons and ports:
- 1. Power/Mute Button: Turns the unit on/off and mutes audio.
- 2. 1/PAU Button: Pause/Play function.
- 3. 2/INT Button: Intro scan for tracks.

Safety Precautions
- Mount the unit in a location that does not obstruct the driver or cause injury during sudden braking or accidents.
- Ensure all connections are secure and the unit functions correctly before final installation.
- Use only supplied parts; unauthorized modifications can cause malfunctions.
- Consult an authorized dealer for any vehicle modifications required for installation.
- Optimal performance may not be achieved if the installation angle exceeds 30 degrees from the vertical view.
- Avoid exposing the unit to high heat, direct sunlight, dust, dirt, or excessive vibration.
Installation
The unit can be installed in a dashboard opening of 182mm x 53mm.
- Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Disconnect the wire harness and antenna.
- Mount the sleeve into the dashboard opening and secure it by bending the tabs.
- Adjust tabs for a snug fit.
- Reconnect the wire harness and antenna, ensuring no wires are pinched.
- Slide the unit into the sleeve until it locks.
- Secure the unit using the supplied metal strap, attaching one end to the unit's mounting bolt and the other to a solid part of the vehicle's dashboard using the provided hardware. This also ensures proper grounding.
- Reconnect the battery terminal and replace the outer trim ring.
Removing the Unit:
- Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery.
- Remove the metal strap.
- Lift and remove the outer trim ring.
- Insert the two supplied keys into the slots on the sides of the unit and pull the unit out.
Operation
Turning the Unit On/Off
Press the Power button (18) to turn the unit on. Press and hold to turn it off.
Panel Release
Press the Power button (18) to remove the front panel.
Sound Adjustment
Press the SEL button (13) to cycle through sound adjustment modes: TA VOL, AF, TA, BAS, TRE, BAL, FAD, LOUD, EQ, LOC, DX, EON, TA VOL, BEEP, VOL. Rotate the audio knob (13) to adjust the selected setting.
Main Menu
Press the Power button (18) to turn on the unit. The main menu will appear. Rotate the audio knob (13) to select an option and press ENT (13) to confirm.
Radio Operation
- Switch to Radio Mode: Press the MODE button (15) until the Radio screen appears.
- Select Frequency Band: Press the BAND button (6) to cycle through FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1 (MW1), AM2 (MW2).
- Select Station: Press the Seek Down (5) or Seek Up (7) buttons for automatic station search. Press and hold either button to enter manual tuning mode.
- Manual Store & Recall: Press and hold a number key on the remote to store a station. Press the number key to recall a stored station.
- Automatic Memory Storing & Program Scanning: Press and hold the AMS button on the remote to store the strongest stations automatically. Press AMS to scan through preset stations.
- RDS (Radio Data System): Press AF/EQ on the remote or use the SEL menu to toggle RDS on/off. When RDS is on, the AF symbol appears. Program names are displayed for RDS stations. AF blinking indicates a weak signal. 'ALARM' appears for emergency broadcasts.
- Listening to Traffic Announcement (TA): Press O/TA on the remote or select TA in the SEL menu. When TA is on and traffic announcements are broadcast, the unit temporarily switches to radio mode. It may switch to an EON-linked station broadcasting traffic information.
- TA Interruption Function: The current traffic announcement can be cancelled by turning off TA. EON TA information can switch to an EON-linked station.
- Using PTY to Select Program: Press PTY to cycle through Speech and Music groups. Rotate the volume knob to select a specific PTY category (e.g., NEWS, ROCK).
Disc Operation (DVD/VCD/CD/MP3)
- Load/Eject Disc: Press the Eject button (20) to eject a disc. Insert a disc with the label side up into the disc slot (21).
- Pause & Play: Press the 1/PAU button (2) to pause playback. Press again to resume. Press STOP twice to stop playback and return to the startup logo.
- Fast Forward / Fast Rewind: Press the Fast Forward (FWD) or Fast Rewind (REV) buttons on the remote control. Speed increases with repeated presses.
- Skip Track: Press the Next (▶▶) or Previous (◀◀) buttons on the remote or front panel to skip tracks.
- DVD Video Menu Play: Press TITLE on the remote to access the TITLE MENU. Use the navigation buttons (▲▼◄►) to select options and OK to confirm.
- Repeat Play: Press RPT to select repeat modes (e.g., Repeat Chapter, Repeat Title, Repeat All).
Special Functions for DVD
- Multi-subtitle Language: Press SUB-T on the remote to cycle through available subtitle languages.
- Multi-audio Language: Press AUDIO on the remote to cycle through available audio tracks.
- Zoom Function: Press ZOOM on the remote to cycle through zoom scales (1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 1/2x, 1/3x, 1/4x). Use navigation buttons to pan the zoomed image.
- GOTO Function: Press GOTO on the remote, then use the number keys to enter the desired Title, Chapter, or time, and press OK to confirm.
- DVD Setup: Press SETUP on the remote to access the setup menu. Use navigation buttons to select pages and options.

- USB/SD Play: The USB port is on the front panel. The SD card slot is accessible after removing the front panel. The unit reads media automatically. If a disc is inserted during USB/SD playback, the unit will switch to disc playback.
- AUX Operation: Connect an external audio player to the 3.5mm AUX IN jack on the front panel. Press MODE to switch to AUX mode.
Equalization
Press EQ (4) on the front panel or press and hold AF/EQ on the remote to select preset equalization modes: FLAT, CLASSIC, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, EQ OFF.
Mute
Press MUTE on the remote control to mute the audio output. Press again to resume.
Bluetooth Operation
Ensure your mobile phone supports Bluetooth and the function is enabled. For best quality, keep the phone within 3 meters.
- Pairing: Enable Bluetooth on your phone. Select "Car Kit" from the device list and enter "0000" as the synchronization password.
- Dial Mode: Make calls using the phone's keypad or the remote control's digit buttons. Use the BAND button to initiate the call and transmit audio. Use the MODE button to hang up.
- Answer/Reject Call: Use the appropriate buttons on the remote to answer or reject incoming calls.
- Music Mode: Play music from your Bluetooth-enabled phone through the car speakers. Use the 1/PAU button to pause/play and the next/previous track buttons to navigate songs. Press AMS on the remote to switch between Dial and Music modes.
