Safety Information
⚠️ Before using the cutting module, ensure you read the instructions carefully for safe and proper operation.
General Information:
- Keep your workspace clean and organized, ensuring stable and secure surfaces.
- Inspect the device for any signs of damage before use. Stop using immediately if damage is detected.
- Do not disassemble or alter the device's structure or operating methods unless directed by Bambu Lab support.
- Operate the cutting module within a temperature range of 0°C to 30°C and store it between -10°C and 40°C. Avoid operating or storing in strong magnetic fields.
Safe Cutting:
- Ensure the cutting module is correctly installed with all safety locking and detection mechanisms active before operation.
- Do not hold materials by hand during cutting.
- If the cutting module jams or obstructs, immediately cut off the printer's power. Wait for all moving parts to stop before disconnecting the module connector.
Blade Handling:
- Before removing the blade from the holder, securely cover it with the provided rubber protective cover to prevent injuries. Visit the Bambu Lab Wiki for detailed guidance.
- After removing the blade, ensure the rubber protective cover is securely in place and store the blade out of reach of children.
- Before starting the cutting process, securely fasten the material to prevent it from becoming loose, which could damage the device or cause injury.
- When removing materials, pay attention to the blade to prevent injury.

Installation Procedures
Lower the Heatbed
Diagram showing the heatbed being lowered inside the printer using on-screen buttons.
Lower the heatbed using the on-screen buttons to create enough space for the cutting platform and prevent damage to the cutting platform by the blade.
Install the Cutting Platform
Diagram showing the build plate removed from the heatbed, and the cutting platform being placed onto the heatbed, aligning with stoppers.
Remove the build plate from the heatbed. Place the cutting platform onto the heatbed, ensuring the corners align with the heatbed stoppers.
Do not discard the protective films on both cutting mats. When not in use, reapply the protective film to the cutting mat to prevent debris from sticking and to maintain its adhesive property.
Install the Cutting Module
Follow these steps to install the cutting module onto the printer's toolhead:
- Diagram showing the removal of the front cover by pressing the top corners. Press the two top corners of the front cover and remove it.
- Diagram showing the quick-release lever unlocked, the module aligned with the toolhead slots, and being slid down. Unlock the quick-release lever. Align the slots of the cutting module and the toolhead, then slide the module all the way down.
- Diagram showing the "Click" mark aligned with the dented slot, and the quick-release lever being pushed down to lock. Ensure the "Click" mark on the module aligns with the dented slot on the toolhead. Push the quick-release lever down to lock it.
- Diagram showing the dust-proof cover opened and the connector being inserted into the toolhead interface. Open the dust-proof cover and insert the connector into the toolhead interface.
- Diagram showing the protective cover being removed from the blade holder. Remove the protective cover on the blade holder. Caution! Sharp blade! Please operate carefully to avoid injury. Keep the protective cover safe to re-attach when the blade is not in use.
Use the Drawing Function

To use the drawing function, replace the blade holder with the pen module.
Install the Pen Module
Follow these steps to install the pen module:
- Diagram showing the height calibrator being removed from the pen holder and installed on the bottom. Remove the height calibrator from the pen holder and install it on the bottom.
- Diagram showing the pen fixture rotated counterclockwise, a pen inserted, and the fixture rotated clockwise to tighten. Rotate the pen fixture counterclockwise to loosen it. Insert a pen to the bottom, then rotate the fixture clockwise to tighten it.
- Diagram showing the blade holder being pulled downward by its round edges, with a caution about the sharp blade. Pull the blade holder downward by the round edges to remove it. The blade is sharp. Please operate carefully to avoid injury!
- Diagram showing the height calibrator removed and the pen module inserted into the cutting module. Remove the height calibrator. Then, insert the pen module all the way into the cutting module.
First Calibration and Use
After installing the cutting module for the first time, you must complete the calibration process before use. Follow the on-screen instructions. For more details on calibration and usage, please see the Wiki page: wiki.bambulab.com/h2/manual/cutter-setup.
Regular Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the cutting module's longer lifespan and optimal performance.
Cutting Module Base:
Regularly inspect the base to ensure it is properly installed on the toolhead. After locking the quick-release lever, verify the module is stable and does not wobble. If wobbling occurs, tighten the screws on the quick-release lever.
Blade Holder:
Regularly check for debris near the blade. If present, unscrew the end cap to remove debris, preventing obstruction of the blade's rotation.
Consumables:
- Regularly check the adhesion of the cutting mat and replace it when necessary to ensure materials are securely held.
- Over time, the blade will wear down, potentially reducing cutting quality. Replace the blade regularly to maintain optimal performance.
- Blade lifespan varies depending on the materials being cut. Refer to the Bambu Lab Wiki for more details.
For more information, please refer to the "Regular Maintenance Recommendations" section on the Bambu Lab Wiki: bambulab.com/support/maintenance.
