The AKASO EK7000 camera has the following components:

Note: The camera does not record sounds when it is in the waterproof case.
Getting Started
To capture videos and photos, you need a memory card (sold separately).
Memory Cards
Use brand name memory cards that meet these requirements:
- Class 10 or UHS-I rating
- Capacity up to 128GB (FAT32)
Notes:
- Please format the memory card in the camera before use. Regular reformatting helps maintain the card's condition but erases all content. Ensure photos and videos are offloaded first.
- FAT32 format memory cards stop storing files when individual files exceed 4GB and begin overwriting old files.
Charging
- Plug the camera into a USB cable.
- The charging status light will be solid while charging and turn off when fully charged.
Note: The camera takes 3-5 hours to fully charge.
Powering On/Off
To Power On: Press and hold the Mode button for three seconds. The camera will beep, and the status light will turn on and stay solid. The camera is on when information appears on the LCD display or status screen.
To Power Off: Press and hold the Mode button for three seconds. The camera will beep, and the status light will turn off.
Switching Modes
To Switch Mode: Press the Mode button to cycle through modes.
To Exit Mode: Press the Mode button to exit the current mode.
Turning On/Off Wifi
To Turn On Wifi: With the camera on, press the Down button.
To Turn Off Wifi: Press the Down button.
Overviews of Modes
There are 5 modes: Video, Photo, Burst Photo, Time Lapse, and Setting. Use the Shutter/Select Button to enter the settings menu. Press the Power/Mode Button repeatedly to browse options, and use the Shutter/Select Button to choose. Use the Up or Down buttons to view different options.
Video Mode
Video Mode is the default mode. In Video Mode, press the Shutter button to start recording videos and press it again to stop.
Photo Mode
Press the Mode button once to switch to Photo Mode. In Photo Mode, press the Shutter button to take photos.
Burst Photo Mode
Press the Mode button several times to switch to Burst Photo Mode. In this mode, pressing the Shutter button captures 3 photos per second, ideal for fast-moving activities.
Time Lapse Photo Mode
Press the Mode button several times to switch to Time Lapse Photo Mode. In this mode, pressing the Shutter button captures a series of photos at specified intervals (3s, 5s, or 10s).
Customizing Your EK7000
Settings Menu
Press the Mode Button several times to enter Setting mode. Use the UP or Down buttons to cycle through options and the Shutter Button to select your desired option.
Settings Details:
- Video Resolution: 1080P60FPS, 1080P30FPS, 4K30FPS, 2.7K30FPS, 1080P60FPS, 720P120FPS, 720P60FPS (Default: 1080P60FPS).
- Loop Recording: Off / On (Default: Off). Records 10-minute videos; overwrites old files when the memory card is full. Note: Loop Recording disables 4K and 2.7K video recording.
- Time Stamp: Off / Date / Date & Time (Default: Date & Time). Adds a time stamp to videos or photos when enabled.
- Exposure: Adjusts exposure level. Options range from -2.0 to +2.0 (Default: 0.0). The camera prioritizes a selected area for exposure determination, useful for challenging lighting conditions. Changes are shown on the LCD display.
- Photo Resolution: 20MP, 16MP, 14MP, 12MP, 8MP, 5MP, 4MP (Default: 20MP).
- Burst Photo: Captures 3 photos in 1 second.
- Self-timer: Sets a delay before shutter firing. Options: 2s, 3s, 5s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 60s (Default: 5s). Useful for selfies.
- Time Lapse Photo: Off / On (Default: Off). Captures photos at specified intervals. Note: When enabled, intervals are applicable to Self-timer.
- Power Frequency: 50Hz / 60Hz / Auto (Default: 60Hz).
- Microphone: Built-in / External (Default: Built-in). External microphones are not included and must be purchased separately.
- Language: English, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Dutch, French, Czech, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Romanian, Japanese, Korean, Thai (Default: English).
- Date & Time: Format YY/MM/DD HH:MM. Resets to default if the battery is replaced.
- Sound Indicator: Shutter, Start-up, Beep can be set to On/Off (Default: On). Volume can be adjusted from 0-3 (Default: 3) using the Shutter button.
- Upside Down: Yes / No (Default: No). Determines video/photo orientation to prevent upside-down footage.
- Screen Saver: Turns off the LCD display after inactivity. Options: OFF / 1 min / 3 min / 5 min (Default: 1 min).
- Power Save: Powers off the camera after inactivity. Options: OFF / 1 min / 3 min / 5 min (Default: 3 min).
- Format: No / Yes.
- Reset: No / Yes. Resets all settings to their default values.
- Version: Check the model and updated time of your EK7000.
Connecting to AKASO GO App
Download and install the AKASO GO app from the App Store or Google Play. The app allows remote control, live preview, playback, and settings management via a smartphone.
- Turn on the camera and press the Down button to enable Wi-Fi. The camera's Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password will be displayed on the screen (e.g., SSID: iCam-AKASO_****, PWD: 1234567890).
- On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings, find the camera's Wi-Fi network, and connect using the password.
- Open the AKASO GO app, tap "Device", then "Add device", and select "EK7000".
- Confirm the operation and tap "Live Preview" to connect the camera to the app.
Playing Back Your Content
Content can be played back on the camera's LCD, computer, TV, or smartphone/tablet. Alternatively, insert the memory card directly into a compatible device.
Viewing Videos and Photos on Your EK7000:
- Turn on the camera to enter Video or Photo mode.
- Press the Up button to enter playback mode. (Pressing Up again exits playback mode).
- Press the Down button, then the Shutter button to view videos or photos in full-screen.
- Press the Up button to play back photos. Press the Up button followed by the Shutter button to play back videos.
- Press the Mode button to exit the video or photo files. Note: Loading content may take time if the memory card is full.
Deleting Videos or Photos on Your EK7000:
- Turn on the camera to enter Video or Photo mode.
- Press the Up button to enter playback mode.
- Press the Down button, then the Shutter button to open videos or photos in full-screen.
- Use the Up or Down buttons to locate the file to delete.
- Press and hold the Shutter button for 3 seconds. The screen will prompt "Delete this file? No/Yes".
- Press the Up button, then the Shutter button to confirm deletion.
Offloading Your Content
Offloading Your Content to Computer:
Transfer files to a computer using a card reader (sold separately) connected via USB. This also frees up space on your memory card. Use the file explorer to transfer or delete files.
Note: A card reader is required for offloading photos or audio files.
Downloading Your Content to Smartphone:
- Open the AKASO GO App and connect the camera. Refer to the "Connecting to AKASO GO App" section for details.
- Tap the Playback icon to view all videos and photos.
- Select photos or videos and tap the download icon to save them to your phone's photo album.
Notes:
- For iPhone users, ensure "AKASO GO" has "All Photos" access in Settings > Privacy > Photos.
- iPhones do not support downloading 4K or 2.7K videos via the app; use a card reader for these files.
Reformatting Your Memory Card
To keep your memory card in good condition, reformat it regularly. This process erases all content, so offload files first.
- Turn on the camera.
- Press the Mode button four times, then the Shutter button to enter Camera Setting.
- Use the UP or Down button to find the "Format" option.
- Press the Shutter button; the screen will show "No/Yes".
- Press the Down button, then the Shutter button to initiate formatting. The screen will display "Waiting" and then "Completed" upon successful formatting.
Maintaining Your Camera
Follow these guidelines for optimal performance:
- For best audio, clear microphone holes by shaking the camera or blowing gently.
- Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid inserting foreign objects near the lens.
- Do not touch the lens with fingers.
- Keep the camera away from drops and bumps to prevent internal damage.
- Protect the camera from high temperatures and direct sunlight to avoid damage.
Maximizing Battery Life
A low battery warning appears below 10%. If the battery reaches 0% during recording, the camera saves the file and powers off.
To maximize battery life:
- Turn off Wireless Connections.
- Capture video at lower frame rates and resolutions.
- Use the Screen Saver setting.
Battery Storage and Handling
The camera contains sensitive components, including the battery. Avoid exposing the camera to extreme cold or heat, as this may temporarily shorten battery life or cause malfunctions. Avoid sudden changes in temperature or humidity, which can lead to condensation.
- Do not dry the camera or battery with external heat sources like microwaves or hair dryers. Damage from liquid ingress is not covered by warranty.
- Do not store the battery with metal objects (coins, keys, necklaces) as this can cause a fire.
- Do not make unauthorized alterations to the camera, as this may compromise safety, compliance, performance, and void the warranty.
WARNING: Do not drop, disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred, microwave, incinerate, or paint the camera or battery. Do not insert foreign objects into the battery compartment. Do not use a damaged camera or battery (e.g., cracked, punctured, water-damaged). Disassembly or puncturing the battery can cause explosion or fire.
Remote
The remote control features a Photo button and a Record button. It is splashproof but not waterproof.
Video Recording:
- Ensure the camera is in Video mode.
- To Start Recording: Press the gray Video button. The camera will beep, and the status light will flash during recording.
- To Stop Recording: Press the gray Video button again. The camera will beep, and the status light will stop flashing.
Photo Capture:
- Ensure the camera is in Photo mode.
- To Take a Photo: Press the red Photo button. The camera will emit a shutter sound.
CR2032 Battery Replacement for Remote
- Remove the 4 screws on the back cover of the remote using a 1.8mm Phillips tip screwdriver.
- Remove the 4 screws on the PCB board.
- Lift the PCB board and slide out the battery. Note: Do not rotate the PCB board to avoid reversing button functions.
- Install the new battery with the "+" pole facing up.
- Reinstall the 4 screws onto the PCB board.
- Reinstall the 4 screws back into the cover.
