Getting Started

Your EK7000 Camera

Note: The camera does not record sound when in the waterproof housing.

microSD Card

To record videos and photos, you will need a microSD card (sold separately).

Use branded microSD cards that meet the following requirements:

Notes:

  1. Please format your memory card in this camera before use. To keep your memory card in good condition, format it regularly. Reformatting erases all your content, so make sure to download your photos and videos first.
  2. FAT32 memory cards stop recording when the storage of each file exceeds 4GB and start recording again in a new file.

Powering On/Off

Power On: Press and hold the Mode button for three seconds. The camera will beep and the mode indicator light will turn on. When information appears on the display, your camera is on. Press and hold the Mode button again to turn off the camera.

Power Off: Press and hold the Mode button for three seconds. The camera will beep and the mode indicator light will turn off.

Changing Modes

Press the Mode button to switch modes.

Wi-Fi On/Off

Turn on the camera, then press and hold the Down button to turn on Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi name and password will appear on the screen. Press the Down button again to turn off Wi-Fi.

Mode Overview

There are 5 modes: Video, Photo, Burst Photo, Time-Lapse Photo, and Settings.

Video Mode

Video mode is the default mode when you turn on the camera.

In Video mode, press the Shutter button to start recording video. Press the Shutter button again to stop recording video.

Photo Mode

Press the Mode button once to switch to Photo mode after turning on the camera.

In Photo mode, press the Shutter button to take a photo.

Burst Photo Mode

Press the Mode button twice to switch to Burst Photo mode.

In Burst Photo mode, press the Shutter button to take multiple photos in quick succession. This is perfect for capturing fast-moving activities.

Time-Lapse Photo Mode

Press the Mode button three times to switch to Time-Lapse Photo mode.

In Time-Lapse Photo mode, press the Shutter button to take a series of photos at fixed intervals.

Customizing Your EK7000

Press the Down button several times to switch to Settings mode. Press the Up or Down buttons to scroll through the options and press the Shutter button to select and confirm. Press the Mode button to exit.

1. Video Resolution:

4K30FPS/2.7K30FPS/1080P120FPS/1080P60FPS/1080P30FPS/720P120FPS/720P60FPS/720P30FPS

Default setting: 4K30FPS

2. Codec Type:

H.264/H.265

Default setting: H.264

3. Loop Recording:

Off/2 minutes/3 minutes/5 minutes

Default setting: Off.

Loop recording allows the camera to replace old files with new ones. When the memory card is full, the camera will delete the first video to make space for the new file. For example, if the loop recording setting is '1 minute', the camera will create videos of 1 minute length, and a 1-minute video will be deleted when the camera needs more memory.

4. Time-Lapse Video:

Off/0.5 seconds/1 second/2 seconds/5 seconds/10 seconds/30 seconds/60 seconds.

Default setting: Off.

Time-lapse video creates a video from frames captured at specific intervals. This allows activities to progress much faster than in reality.

Note: Time-lapse video is recorded without sound.

5. Slow Motion:

Off/1080P60FPS/1080P120FPS/720P120FPS

Default setting: Off.

In slow motion mode, press the Shutter button, and the camera will record a slow-motion video.

6. Video Quality:

High/Medium/Low

Default setting: High.

7. Microphone:

Off/On

Default setting: On.

8. Timestamp:

Off/On

Default setting: On.

If you enable the timestamp, the camera will add a timestamp to the photos and videos you take.

9. Photo Resolution:

16M/13M/8M/5M/4M

Default setting: 16M.

10. Self-Timer:

3 seconds/5 seconds/10 seconds/20 seconds

Default setting: 5 seconds.

Provides a delay between pressing the shutter and taking the photo.

11. Timed Photo Length:

Unlimited/5 minutes/10 minutes/15 minutes/20 minutes/30 minutes

Default setting: Unlimited.

12. Time-Lapse Photo:

Off/On

Default setting: Off.

Time-lapse photo captures a series of photos at specific intervals. Use this mode to capture any activity, then select the best ones later.

13. Burst Photo:

3 photos/5 photos/10 photos

Default setting: 3 photos.

In burst mode, multiple photos are taken in quick succession.

14. White Balance:

Auto/Sunny/Cloudy/Incandescent/Fluorescent

Default setting: Auto.

White balance allows you to adjust the color temperature of videos and photos to optimize for cool or warm lighting conditions.

15. Exposure:

+/-1/2, +/-1, +/-1/3, +/-2/3, +/-2

Default setting: 0.

The exposure value is used to measure changes in exposure. This setting is particularly useful for shots where an important area might be overexposed or underexposed.

16. ISO:

Auto/100/200/400/800/1600/3200/6400

Default setting: Auto.

ISO determines the camera's sensitivity to light, balancing brightness and the resulting image noise. Image noise refers to the level of graininess in an image. In low light, higher ISO values will result in brighter images but with more image noise. Lower values will result in less image noise but darker images.

17. LED Indicator:

Shutter/Power/Beep/Volume

You can turn these sound effects on and off and adjust the camera's volume with this setting.

18. Power Frequency:

Auto/50Hz/60Hz

Default setting: Auto.

19. Remote:

Off/On

Default setting: On.

20. Flip:

Off/On

Default setting: Off.

This setting determines the orientation of your video or photos to help you avoid upside-down shots.

21. Date & Time:

MM/DD/YY (Month/Day/Year)

Here you can set the camera's date and time.

22. Screen Saver:

Off/1 minute/3 minutes/5 minutes

Default setting: 1 minute.

Turns off the display after a period of inactivity to save battery life. To turn the display back on, press any button or tap the camera screen.

23. Power Saving:

Off/3 minutes/5 minutes/10 minutes

Default setting: 3 minutes.

Turns off your camera after a period of inactivity to save battery life.

24. Driving Mode:

Off/On

Default setting: Off.

If you enable driving mode and connect the camera to the car's cigarette lighter, the camera will turn on automatically when you start the car and turn off when you stop the car.

25. Language:

English/Russian/German/French/Italian/Spanish/Simplified Chinese/Traditional Chinese/Japanese

Default setting: English.

26. Format:

No/Yes

Default setting: No.

To keep your memory card in good condition, format it regularly. Reformatting erases all your content, so make sure to download your photos and videos first.

27. Reset:

No/Yes

Default setting: No.

This setting resets all settings to their default values.

28. Version:

You can check the model and firmware version of your camera.

Connecting to the App

Please download and install the AKASO GO app from the App Store or Google Play first.

The AKASO GO app allows you to control your camera remotely using a smartphone or tablet. Features include camera control, live preview, playback, download, and settings.

  1. Open the AKASO GO app, tap the "DEVICE" icon at the bottom of the screen, and then select "Add Device."
  2. Select "EK7000" and follow the instructions. Press and hold the Down button to turn on Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi name and password will appear on the camera screen.
  3. Check "Operation Authorized" at the bottom of the screen and tap "Live Preview."
  4. Enter the correct Wi-Fi name and password, then tap "Connect."

Viewing Your Content

You can view your content on the camera itself, on your computer, TV, or smartphone/tablet.

You can also view content by inserting the memory card directly into a compatible device, such as a computer or TV. With this method, the display resolution depends on the device's resolution and its ability to display that resolution.

Note: To view your videos and photos on a computer, you must first transfer these files to the computer. Transferring files also frees up space on your memory card for new content.

Viewing Videos and Photos on Your EK7000

  1. Turn on the camera to enter Video or Photo mode.
  2. Press the Up button in Video or Photo mode to enter Playback mode. If you press the Up button in Playback mode, the camera will exit Playback mode.
  3. Press the Down button, then the Shutter button to open the video or photo in full-screen view.
  4. Press the Up or Down button to browse photos. Press the Up or Down button and then the Shutter button to play videos.
  5. To exit video or photo files, press the Mode button.

Note: If your memory card contains a lot of content, it may take a minute for it to load.

Deleting Videos and Photos

  1. Turn on the camera and enter Video or Photo mode.
  2. Press the Up button in Video or Photo mode to enter Playback mode.
  3. Press the Down button, then the Shutter button to open the video or photo in full-screen view.
  4. Press the Up or Down button to locate the file you want to delete.
  5. Press and hold the Shutter button for 3 seconds. The screen will display "Delete this file? Yes/No."
  6. Select "Yes," then press the Shutter button. The selected file will be deleted.

Downloading Your Content

Downloading Your Content to a Computer

To download files to your computer, you will need a card reader (sold separately). Connect it to your computer via USB and insert the memory card. You can transfer files to your computer or delete selected files using File Explorer.

Downloading Your Content to a Smartphone

  1. Open the AKASO GO app. Connect the camera with the app.
  2. Tap the album icon at the bottom of the screen to see all videos and photos.
  3. Tap the selection icon in the upper right corner, then select the photo or video you want to download. Tap the download icon to download.

Note: If you cannot download videos or photos to an iPhone or iPad, please go to Settings > Privacy > Photos, find "AKASO GO," and select "Read & Write."

Camera Maintenance

Follow these instructions to get the best performance from your camera:

  1. For best audio performance, blow on the camera or blow into the microphone to remove debris from the microphone holes.
  2. To clean the lens, wipe it with a soft, clean cloth. Do not insert foreign objects around the lens.
  3. Do not touch the lens with your fingers.
  4. Keep the camera away from drops and impacts, which could damage internal components.
  5. Keep the camera away from high temperatures and strong sunlight to avoid damage.

Optimizing Battery Life

If the battery reaches 0% during recording, the camera saves the file and shuts down. To optimize battery life, follow these instructions as much as possible:

  1. Turn off wireless connections.
  2. Record video at lower frame rates and resolutions.
  3. Use the screen saver settings.

Battery Storage and Maintenance

The camera contains sensitive components, including the battery. Avoid exposing your camera to very cold or very hot temperatures. Low or high-temperature conditions may temporarily shorten battery life or cause the camera to temporarily stop working properly. Avoid dramatic temperature or humidity changes while using the camera, as condensation may form on or inside the camera.

Do not dry your camera or battery using an external heat source such as a microwave or hairdryer. Damage to the camera or battery caused by contact with liquid inside the camera is not covered by warranty.

Do not store your battery with metal objects, such as coins, keys, or chains. If the battery terminals come into contact with metal objects, it may cause a fire.

Do not make unauthorized modifications to the camera. Doing so may compromise safety, regulatory compliance, performance, and may void the warranty.

Warning: Do not drop, disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, cut, heat, ignite, or paint the camera or battery. Do not insert foreign objects into the battery slot on the camera. Do not use the camera or battery if they are damaged, for example, if they are cracked, punctured, or damaged by water. Disassembling or puncturing the battery may cause an explosion or fire.

Remote Control

Video

To record a video, ensure the camera is in Video mode.

To start recording:

Press the gray Video button. The camera will beep once and the camera indicator light will flash while recording.

To stop recording:

Press the gray Video button again. The camera will beep once and the camera indicator light will stop flashing.

Photo

To take a photo, ensure the camera is in Photo mode.

To take a photo:

Press the red Photo button. The camera will emit a camera shutter sound.

The remote is splash-proof only, not waterproof.

Remote Battery Replacement

Replacing the CR2032 Battery for the EK7000 Remote

  1. Use a 1.8mm Phillips screwdriver to remove the 4 screws on the back cover of the remote, which will allow you to open it.
  2. Remove another 4 screws from the printed circuit board.
  3. Lift the printed circuit board and slide out the battery, as shown in the image.

Note: Do not rotate the printed circuit board to avoid reversing the functions of the camera and video buttons.

  1. Install the new battery, keeping the "+" facing up.
  2. Reinstall all 4 screws onto the printed circuit board.
  3. Reinstall all 4 screws onto the cover.

Assembling Your Camera

Attach your camera to helmets and equipment.

The warranty period is stated on the purchase invoice of the product (hereinafter: "Warranty Period") and subject to the provisions of the invoice, which constitutes an integral part of this warranty certificate (hereinafter "Warranty Certificate").

A full 12-month warranty is hereby granted (hereinafter "Full Warranty Period").

The Company undertakes to repair the defective product, restore it to its condition prior to the malfunction, except for data loss. In the event that the product cannot be repaired at the Company's discretion, the Company will replace it with a product of equivalent or higher technical performance or refund the consumer according to the Company's discretion.

Service will be provided at the Company's service stations and/or by an authorized party. In cases where the Company will transport and repair the products at a location different from where they were delivered by the customer. The customer must deliver the product in its entirety to the service station.

Some products have markings such as a barcode sticker, serial number sticker, etc. It is forbidden to remove the stickers and markings; their removal will void the Company's warranty.

The Company undertakes to repair the product within 10 business days (excluding Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays) from the date of delivery of the product to the service station.

The Company shall not be liable for any losses (direct and/or indirect) or damages caused to the customer and/or a third party as a result of using the product or as a result of improper operation of the product and/or any loss of any kind due to the product being in repair, except for its repair/replacement according to the above conditions.

There is no undertaking by the Company to adapt the purchased product for a purpose and/or for compatibility with another product of the customer and/or for the product's compatibility with software and/or applications of any kind or type.

This certificate does not cover:
