This document provides essential safety instructions and technical datasheets for the Anker SOLIX Balcony Solar Power System. It covers the microinverter, solar panels, and mounting hardware, detailing installation, operation, and safety precautions.
Lightning Surge Suppression
⚠️ WARNING: To prevent electric shock from lightning strikes, ensure all metal parts of the solar system are properly grounded. This involves scraping protective coatings from contact surfaces between the solar panel frame, brackets, and microinverter, and ensuring they are connected via conductors (e.g., metal railings) and grounded through the system's wiring.
Nearby lightning strikes can induce voltage spikes in the electrical grid, potentially damaging equipment. While the microinverter has surge protection, extreme surges can exceed its capacity. All solar installations must include surge protection, as the warranty does not cover force majeure events like lightning strikes. Install surge protection devices according to manufacturer instructions.
Solar Panel Safety
⚠️ Before installing, wiring, operating, or maintaining solar PV modules, read and understand all safety rules. Solar modules generate DC current when exposed to light. Direct contact with live parts (e.g., terminals) can cause injury, regardless of whether the module is connected.
Key precautions:
- Maximum series fuse rating: 20A.
- Power production tolerance: +3%.
- Modules produce electricity when exposed to light.
- Follow all applicable safety precautions.
- Only qualified personnel should install or maintain modules.
- Be aware of dangerous high DC voltage when connecting modules.
- Do not damage or scratch the rear surface of modules.
- Do not handle or install modules when wet.
- Follow battery manufacturer recommendations if using batteries.
General Safety Instructions
Installers must adhere to all manual instructions, local laws, and regulations. Failure to comply voids the warranty.
Anker PV modules meet international standards. Before installation, consult local authorities for permits and inspection requirements.
Consider temperature-related voltage changes during system design. Photovoltaic modules generate power in sunlight; avoid shading from buildings, trees, or other obstructions.
Store modules in original packaging, protected from damage. Unpack carefully at the installation site. Do not drop packaged modules.
Ensure correct transport and installation methods to prevent module damage. Do not stack modules beyond specified limits.
Avoid standing, climbing, walking, or jumping on modules or their packaging. Do not place heavy or sharp objects on modules.
Use appropriate tools and supports during unpacking. Modules should not be placed in unstable environments.
Modules should be handled by two or more people with non-slip gloves. Do not carry modules by wires or junction boxes.
Store modules temporarily in a dry, ventilated environment.
Ensure modules are clean and dry before electrical contact. Do not install in rain, snow, or high winds.
Avoid artificial condensing light sources. Support structures must be durable, rust-proof, and UV-resistant, and tested/certified.
Column-mounted modules require wind and snow-resistant structures. Ensure loads do not exceed design limits.
Do not use modules with broken glass or damaged back sheets. Never attempt to disassemble or damage module components. Touching aluminum frames or surfaces can cause electric shock.
Do not step on, place heavy objects on, scratch, or damage the glass surface. Do not paint or glue the module glass.
Use opaque materials during installation to prevent shock or burns. Refrain from wearing metal jewelry during installation/maintenance.
Do not disconnect electrical connections or unplug connectors during circuit overload. Ensure cables and connectors are not scratched or cut.
Use well-insulated tools. Keep children away from the installation site.
Comply with local safety regulations for all system components (wires, connectors, inverters, batteries, etc.).
Maximum system voltage must not exceed 1000V or 1500V (check module nameplate for exact voltage).
Module output current and voltage may exceed standard test conditions. Ensure wiring and equipment can handle 1.25 times Voc and Isc.
Modules comply with IEC61215, IEC61730, CSA C22.1-12-2012, UL 1703 standards. They are Class II safety-rated.
Consult local authorities for fire safety guidelines. Roof structures and mounting brackets must be fireproof and ventilated.
Module frames must maintain a 115mm (4.5in) distance from roof surfaces for fire protection. Use appropriate accessories (fuses, breakers, earthed connectors).
Ensure roof structures are stable and sealed. Dust accumulation reduces performance; a tilt angle >10° aids self-cleaning.
Do not operate equipment panels near flammable gas.

Installation and Maintenance
Installation: Ensure panels can extend beyond balcony railings. Check local authorities for installation permits. Install/remove with caution, keeping the area below clear. At least two people are recommended for installation/removal. Secure panels firmly before tightening clamps. Use mounting auxiliary rope. Handle panels carefully to avoid damage.
Electrical: All installations must comply with local electrical codes. Provide additional protection for AC wiring (RCDs, circuit breakers). Product may cause AC current with DC component; use Type B RCD/RCM if applicable. No internal modifications to microinverter except cable connectors. Never disconnect panels from microinverter without turning off AC power. Do not disconnect connectors under load.
Mounting Brackets: Designed for wind force level 8. Additional measures may be needed in extreme winds (e.g., temporary removal). Address rust or deformation immediately with protective measures.
Maintenance: Do not damage panels with sharp objects. Keep panels uncovered for maximum sunlight. Never disconnect DC connectors under load. Avoid touching hot surfaces of the microinverter. Do not attempt to repair the microinverter; contact authorized service agents if troubleshooting fails.
