The Grundfos SP 3A-6 is a submersible borehole pump designed for pumping clean water. It offers versatility in installation, supporting both vertical and horizontal orientations. It is a canned type submersible motor, known for its good mechanical stability and high efficiency. The motor is suitable for operating temperatures up to 40 °C.
The motor is not supplied with a built-in temperature sensor. However, a Pt1000 sensor can be fitted for temperature monitoring purposes.
The motor is designed for direct-on-line (DOL) starting.

Pump Details
All pump surfaces that come into contact with pumped liquids are made of stainless steel, ensuring excellent corrosion and wear resistance. The material used is EN 1.4301 (AISI 304).
The elastomer parts within the pump are manufactured from NBR (Nitrile-Butadiene Rubber) and TPU (Thermoplastic Poly-Urethane). These materials provide good wear resistance and contribute to long service intervals.
The suction interconnector is fitted with a strainer to prevent the ingress of large particles into the pump. Its design complies with NEMA standards for motor mounting and dimensions.

Motor Details
The motor's stator is hermetically encapsulated in stainless steel. Its windings are embedded in a polymer compound, which enhances mechanical stability, provides optimum cooling, and minimizes the risk of short circuits.
The shaft seal is a lip seal type, characterized by low friction against the rotor shaft. The NBR elastomer used offers good wear resistance, elasticity, and resistance to particles. This rubber material is approved for use in potable water.
The motor can be fitted with a Pt100 or Pt1000 sensor. When used with a control unit, these sensors ensure that maximum operating temperature conditions are not exceeded.
