The Grundfos CM 10-1 A-R-A-E-AQQE F-A-A-N is a compact, reliable, horizontal, multistage, end-suction centrifugal pump. It features an axial suction port and a radial discharge port. The pump's shaft, impellers, and chambers are constructed from stainless steel, while the inlet and discharge parts are made of cast iron. It is equipped with a specially designed, unbalanced O-ring mechanical shaft seal. Pipework connections are made via internal Whitworth pipe threads (Rp, ISO 7/1). The pump is driven by a 3-phase, foot-mounted, fan-cooled asynchronous motor.
The integrated pump and motor design offers a compact and user-friendly solution. Its low base plate makes it ideal for installations where space is limited. The advanced shaft seal design ensures high wear resistance, improved resistance to sticking and dry-running, and a long operating life. Pump Construction and Features
The impeller is securely fixed to the splined pump shaft using a combination of a stop ring and a Nord-lock® washer. The hydraulic parts of the pump can be accessed and removed from the pump side. The inlet part, chambers, and discharge part are held together by four staybolts.
The pump utilizes an unbalanced O-ring seal with a rigid torque-transmission system, featuring a fixed seal driver for consistent rotation of all components. The dynamic secondary seal is an O-ring.
Seal Faces:
- Rotating seal ring material: Silicon carbide (SiC)
- Stationary seat material: Silicon carbide (SiC)
This material pairing is chosen for its high corrosion resistance and hardness, providing excellent resistance against abrasive particles.
Secondary Seal:
EPDM (ethylene-propylene rubber). EPDM offers excellent resistance to hot water but is not suitable for mineral oils.
The pump shaft is connected to the motor shaft via a left-hand thread and a tight fit, preventing dismantling of the shaft.
Motor Specifications
The motor is a totally enclosed, fan-cooled asynchronous type, designed with principal dimensions conforming to EN 50347. Electrical tolerances adhere to EN 60034 standards. The motor's efficiency is classified as IE2, in accordance with IEC 60034-30.
An installation indicator is fitted to the motor fan cover. Based on the motor's cooling air, it indicates the direction of motor rotation. A directional sticker is also provided on the motor.
