First-Time Setup

1. Automatic Earbud Connection

Press and hold both touch sensors for at least 3 seconds to turn ON the power. The left and right earbuds will blink blue and white to indicate they are ready to connect to your device.

2. Connect to Bluetooth

Select "JLab JBuds Air Icon" in your device's Bluetooth settings. Two beeps followed by a solid white light indicate you are connected.

Adding New / Additional Bluetooth Devices

Turn OFF Bluetooth on any previously connected devices. Turn ON Bluetooth on the new device. The earbuds will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Select "JLab JBuds Air Icon" in the device's settings to connect.

Button Functions

Left Earbud

Volume Down: Tap once
Voice Assistant (Siri/Google): Double tap
Answer/End Call: Tap once
Reject Incoming Call: Press and hold for at least 1 second
Previous Track: Press and hold for at least 1 second
Turn On: Press and hold for at least 3 seconds
Change EQ: Triple tap

Right Earbud

Volume Up: Tap once
Answer/End Call: Tap once
Play/Pause: Double tap
Reject Incoming Call: Press and hold for at least 1 second
Next Track: Press and hold for at least 1 second
Turn On: Press and hold for at least 3 seconds
Change EQ: Triple tap

Sound Notifications

Power On: [chime]
Bluetooth Connected: 2 [pip sound]
Low Battery: "Low Battery" announcement (when below 20%)
Power Off: [chime]

Turning Off Earbuds Without Charging Case: Go to your device's Bluetooth settings and disconnect "JLab JBuds Air Icon". The earbuds will turn OFF automatically after 3 minutes.

Equalizer Modes

Tap either the right or left earbud 3 times to cycle through different EQ settings. Sound notifications will indicate the selected mode.

JLab Signature: JLab C3™™ signature sound with enhanced vocals and bass.
Balanced: Even sound without any extra sound enhancements.
Bass Boost: Enhanced bass and sub-bass.

Charging

Charging the Earbuds

Match the earbuds to the corresponding L (left) and R (right) markings on the charging case for correct charging. The earbuds will automatically turn OFF and begin charging. A blue light indicates the earbuds are charging and will turn off when charging is complete.

The earbuds will automatically turn ON and reconnect to your device when the charging case is opened.

Charging the Case

Connect your JBuds Air Icon to a computer or any other USB charger (5V 1A or less). LED indicators blink white while charging and turn solid white when charging is complete.

Fitting

Try the different options of Cush Fins and ear tips for the best possible fit and seal.

The Cush Fin should be fitted by aligning its contour around the microphone hole.

Troubleshooting

No Sound in One Earbud (Manual Reset)

Go to your device's Bluetooth settings and "forget" JLab JBuds Air Icon. [Visual: Smartphone Bluetooth settings screen displaying "JLab JBuds Air Icon" selected.]
Open the charging case and leave the earbuds inside. [Visual: Earbuds inside an open charging case.]
Quickly tap the touch sensor on each earbud 3 times. They will blink blue and then turn off. Once both earbuds are off, close the charging case. [Visual: Earbud touch sensor being tapped 3 times.]
Wait 10 seconds, then open the charging case. Wait until the left and right earbuds blink blue and white. You are now ready to connect the earbuds to your Bluetooth device.

Bluetooth Device Not Connecting / Reconnecting

Select "JLab JBuds Air Icon" in your device's settings to reconnect.

Echo During Calls

If you experience echo or poor sound quality during calls with JBuds Air Icon, ensure the Cush Fin is not blocking the microphone opening.

Quick Tips & Warnings

Quick Tips

Dry the earbuds thoroughly before placing them in the charging case to prevent potential damage to the case. The earbuds are sweat/water resistant, but the case is not.
Both earbuds can be used individually. Simply remove one earbud from the charging case, and it will connect automatically.
Choosing the correct ear tips can significantly improve sound quality by ensuring a proper seal. Try all ear tips for the best results.

Warnings

Dry the earbuds thoroughly before placing them in the charging case to prevent potential damage to the case. The earbuds are sweat/water resistant, but the case is not.
Avoid extreme heat, cold, and humidity.
Do not drop or crush the earbuds.
Wax buildup on earbud tips can degrade sound quality. Gently remove wax with a cotton swab or small tool to improve sound quality.
If you experience discomfort or pain, try lowering the volume or taking a break from using the earbuds.
If you frequently experience discomfort, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
Treat your earbuds with care, similar to fine sunglasses, and store them safely when not in use.
