Tachymeter
(For models with a tachymeter scale)
For Measuring Average Speed of Vehicles
- Use the stopwatch to determine the time required to travel 1 km or 1 mile.
- The reading on the tachymeter scale indicated by the stopwatch hand shows the average speed per hour.
Diagram: Shows a watch face with a tachymeter scale around the bezel. The stopwatch second hand points to "90" on the tachymeter scale, and the elapsed time is 40 seconds.
Example 1: Stopwatch second hand: 40 seconds. Tachymeter scale: "90". Speed = "90" (tachymeter reading) x 1 (km or mile) = 90 km/h or mph.
The tachymeter scale can only be used when the measured time is less than 60 seconds.
Example 2: If the measured distance is 2 kilometers or miles, or reduced to 0.5 km or mile, and the stopwatch second hand shows "90" on the tachymeter scale:
- "90" (tachymeter reading) x 2 (km or mile) = 180 km/h or mph
- "90" (tachymeter reading) x 0.5 (km or mile) = 45 km/h or mph
For Measuring Productivity
- Use the stopwatch to determine the time required to complete one operation.
- The reading on the tachymeter scale indicated by the stopwatch hand shows the average number of operations completed per hour.
Diagram: Shows a watch face with a tachymeter scale. The stopwatch second hand points to "180" on the tachymeter scale, and the elapsed time is 20 seconds.
Example 1: "180" (tachymeter reading) x 1 (operation) = 180 operations per hour.
Example 2: If 15 operations are completed in 20 seconds:
"180" (tachymeter reading) x 15 (operations) = 2700 operations per hour.
Battery Replacement
The miniature battery in your watch is designed to last approximately 3 years. However, since the battery was installed at the factory, the actual remaining service life may be shorter than the indicated period from the time you acquire the watch.
When the battery runs out, you should replace it as soon as possible to avoid damaging the watch. For battery replacement, it is recommended to consult an OFFICIAL SEIKO DEALER and choose a SEIKO SR927SW battery.
- If the stopwatch is used for more than 2 hours a day, and/or if the alarm rings for more than 20 seconds a day, the battery life may be shorter than the indicated period.
- After replacing the battery with a new one, set the time/calendar, alarm, and stopwatch hand positions.
Battery Power Indicator
When the battery power is running low, the small second hand will start moving at 2-second intervals instead of the normal 1-second interval. In this case, the battery should be replaced as soon as possible.
- When the second hand starts moving at 2-second intervals, the alarm will not sound even if it is activated. This is not a malfunction.
- The watch continues to display the correct time even when the second hand starts moving at 2-second intervals.
Important Safety Information
ATTENTION
- Do not remove the battery from the watch.
- If necessary, keep the battery in a place inaccessible to children. If a child swallows a battery, seek immediate medical attention.
CAUTION
- Do not short-circuit, damage, or heat the battery. Never expose it to fire. The battery may explode, overheat, or ignite.
- The battery cannot be recharged. Do not attempt to recharge it, as this may cause damage to the battery.
