Installation Instructions
General Notes:
- Ensure the power supply is disconnected before installation.
- Use [Copper conductors only].
- Wire stripping length: 7 to 8 mm [0.28 to 0.32 inches].
- Connection terminals accept: 1 wire 0.75 - 2.5 mm² [AWG 18-14], or max. 2 wires 1.5 mm² [AWG 18-16] per slot.
- Tightening torque for terminals: 0.8 [Nm].
Step 1: Preparation
Refer to the instruction sheet of SCC-IH6R/SCC-S6R for more detailed information if applicable.
Identify the correct shunt trip module (S3C-A1 or S3C-A2) based on your circuit breaker series and voltage requirements.
Step 2: Mounting the Shunt Trip
The shunt trip can be mounted on various ABB circuit breakers and RCCBs. The mounting mechanism often involves a 'fork' or clip. The document shows different connection types using [fork A], [fork B], and [fork C].
- For S300 P, S200 MTR: Remove a specific part (indicated by [1b] in the diagram) before mounting.
- General Mounting: The diagrams show the shunt trip module (e.g., S3C-A1, S3C-A2) being attached to the side of the main circuit breaker unit (e.g., SN201, DS203NC, DS301C).
Step 3: Wiring Connections
The shunt trip module has terminals for connecting to the power source that will trigger the trip. The diagrams illustrate the wiring of the shunt trip module to the circuit breaker's auxiliary contacts or control circuit.
Wiring Diagram Description:
The diagrams show the shunt trip module (e.g., S3C-A1, S3C-A2) connected to various circuit breaker types (SN201, DS203NC, DS301C) and auxiliary contacts ([H], [S/H], [S/H(H)]). The connections are typically made to specific terminals on the circuit breaker or its accessories.
Busbar Pass-through:
The document mentions "Busbar PS pass-through TOP and BOTTOM".
Cautionary Notes for Busbar Installation:
- When using S3C-A1 and S3C-A2 with busbar types other than those specified, ensure that routing cables do not contact the busbar pins.
- Consider high bending radius for cables.
- When positioning the device on the edge, it must be positioned outside the busbar.
- Protection against contact with the connection pins of the busbar must be ensured through suitable selection of the busbar, device positioning, and covers.
