  • Handset
  • Telephone cord
  • Footstand
  • Quick Installation Guide

An Electronic Hook Switch (EHS) adapter is an optional accessory.

Setup and Connections

Attaching the Footstand: To position the phone on a desk, align the phone unit with the footstand and press firmly until it secures. This provides an angled stand for optimal viewing.

Connections: The rear of the Snom D140 features the following ports:

  • 2 x RJ45 Ethernet ports: One for the network connection (LAN) and one for a PC connection.
  • 2 x 4P4C connectors: For the handset and an optional headset.
  • 1 x RJ12 port: Typically used for EHS or other accessories.

Power: The phone supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) IEEE 802.3af, Class 1. If PoE is not available, a separately sold power adapter (e.g., Mass Power model NBS12E050200UV, Snom PN 00004570) is required.

Initializing and Registering the Phone

Note: You will need registration information from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or network administrator, typically including your phone/extension number, password, and registrar server address.

The phone initializes automatically via DHCP upon connection to the network. If DHCP is not supported, you will need to manually enter the IP address, netmask, IP gateway, and DNS server details provided by your ISP or administrator.

Follow the on-screen prompts using the navigation keys (up/down arrows) to select options and the OK key to confirm:

  1. Language: The default language is English.
  2. Time Zone: Select your local time zone.
  3. Tone Scheme: Configure dial tones.
  4. Welcome Screen: Press any key to proceed with registration. You can view the phone's IP address at this stage by pressing the designated key.
  5. Account Number: Enter your account or extension number and press OK to save.
  6. Registrar: Enter the registrar server address and press OK to save.
  7. Reboot Phone: The phone will reboot to apply settings.
  8. Password: Enter the password provided by your ISP or administrator and press OK to save. A successful registration will display the idle screen.
