Introduction

This document provides a comprehensive guide to using the GolfBuddy VOICE 2 se, a golf GPS device designed to enhance your game by providing accurate distance information and course data.

The GB VOICE 2 se is a compact and user-friendly golf GPS device. Its interface includes:

Navigation Tip: Press the [+/- Button] to move through menu options and the [OK Button] to confirm your selection.

Screen Description

The device features two primary display modes:

Hole Information Screen

This screen displays key data for the current hole:

Note: The default distance unit is Yards (Y). The display will show 'L' or 'R' for the green based on your settings.

Green View Screen

This screen provides a visual representation of the green:

The device switches to the Green View screen by pressing the [OK Button] while the Hole Information screen is displayed, accompanied by distance voice prompts. It automatically returns to the Hole Information screen after 5 seconds.

Overview of Play Golf Functions

Satellite Reception & Automatic Course/Hole Recognition

Upon powering on, the device automatically searches for the nearest golf course by receiving satellite signals. This ensures you are ready to play as soon as you reach the course.

Distance Information via Voice

You can receive distance information audibly:

General Settings

Customize your device settings for language, time, volume, and screen orientation.

Language Selection

The language selection screen appears when you turn on the device and hold the [OK Button] simultaneously. Use the [+/- Button] to select your preferred language and press the [OK Button] to confirm.

The device supports ten voice languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Danish, and Swedish, with male/female voice options available for some languages.

For language and voice selection, as well as male/female voice changes, use the GOLFBUDDY GB Manager program. You can download it from www.golfbuddy.com.

Time Display

During a round, press and hold the [Mode Button] for one second to check the current time. The device will read the time aloud. Press the [OK Button] to return to the previous screen.

Time Setting

On the time display screen, press the [OK Button] to select the hour, then use the [+/- Button] to adjust the hour. Press the [+/- Button] again to select the minute, and use the [+/- Button] to adjust the minute. Press the [OK Button] to complete the time setting.

The minute setting is automatically adjusted via GPS signal. Minor regional differences may occur, allowing manual adjustment of minutes in 15-minute intervals.

Volume Control

Use the [+/- Button] to adjust the volume during a round. Pressing the [+/- Button] simultaneously mutes the device; pressing either [+/- Button] again unmutes it.

Flip Screen Mode

To flip the display 180 degrees, press and hold the [Mode Button] and [OK Button] at the same time. This feature is useful for players who wear the device on a belt, allowing them to view the screen orientation conveniently.

Golf Settings

Quickly change settings during a round:

Left/Right Green Switch

Press and hold the [Mode Button] for a second during play to switch between Left and Right green views. The default setting is the Left green. Changing the green setting will apply to the current hole and subsequent holes.

Distance information will be based on the last selected green setting.

Distance Unit (Yards/Meters) Selection

Press and hold the [Mode Button] for a second during play to switch between Yards and Meters for distance readings.

Manual Hole Changing

While playing, press the [OK Button] and [+/- Button] simultaneously to access the hole selection/change screen. Use the [+/- Button] to select the desired hole, and press the [OK Button] to confirm the change.

Shot Distance Measurement

Measure the distance of your shots during a round:

  1. Press the [Mode Button] to enter Shot Distance Measurement mode.
  2. Press and hold the [OK Button] for 3 seconds to start measuring.
  3. After reaching your ball's position, press the [Mode Button] to finish the measurement. The shot distance will be displayed and can be heard via voice prompt.

You can continuously check distances between movements. Press and hold the [OK Button] for two seconds in this mode to reset the shot distance values. While measuring, pressing the [OK Button] allows you to hear the distance to the center of the green. Pressing the [OK Button] again will take you to the Hole Information screen.

How to Use GOLFBUDDY GB Manager

The GOLFBUDDY GB Manager software allows you to update your device's firmware and golf course data.

Download GB Manager from: https://en.golfbuddy.com/support/downloads.asp

Before downloading, verify your PC's version and OS. Create an account to use GB Manager.

  1. Connect GB VOICE2 se to PC: Use the provided USB cable to connect the device to your computer.
  2. Start GB Manager: Launch the GB Manager application.
  3. Scan and Select Device: The software will automatically scan for connected devices. Select your GB VOICE2 se from the list.
  4. Firmware Update: GB Manager will automatically check for and install firmware updates if available.
  5. Golf Course Update: Check the status of your golf course data. Select countries, provinces, or states to download updated course information as needed.
  6. Disconnect and Restart: Once updates are complete, disconnect the USB cable and restart your device.

Limited Warranty

GolfBuddy products come with a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for two (2) years from the date of original retail purchase, under normal consumer use.

GolfBuddy, at its discretion, will replace or repair defective parts or the unit with new or reconditioned parts, or issue a credit.

Eligibility

This warranty applies only to original authorized purchasers. Purchasers must present the original purchase receipt showing date, place, and amount paid. The product must be in its original packaging with all accessories and manuals.

All returned products must include the original receipt and RA number. Returns without required information will be sent back at the purchaser's expense.
