Viewfinder (LCD) Description
The LCD display shows the following information:
- Scan indicator: Displays when scan mode is activated.
- Pin indicator: Displays when pin finder mode is activated.
- Distance: Slope-adjusted distance (Meters/Yards).
- Unit of Measurement: Meters (M) or Yards (Y).
- Targeting Crosshair: Used for aiming at the target.
- Focus Square: Blinks when searching for the target, disappears when the target is captured.
- Straight Line Distance: Laser-measured straight-line distance.
- Height Difference: Indicates the height difference of the target (uphill: +, downhill: -).
- Battery Indicator: Shows the remaining battery level.
Getting Started
Inserting the Battery & Setting Focus
- Remove the battery cover: Lift and rotate the battery cap counterclockwise. Remove the protective film between the battery and cap. Insert a CR2 3V battery with the negative end facing inward.
- Setting Focus: Use the viewfinder to aim and turn the diopter dial until the target and measurement data are clear.
How to Operate
- Power On: Press the Power/Measurement Button.
- Select Mode: Press the Mode Button.
- Align Target: Align the crosshairs with the target.
- Measure Distance: Press the Power/Measurement Button. The focus square will appear, and the distance will be measured.
Changing the Unit of Measurement
Hold down the MODE button for 3 seconds to switch between Meters and Yards.
Slope ON/OFF
Press and hold the MODE button for 5 seconds to turn the Slope feature on or off.
Slope Function
- Slope ON: Displays the slope-adjusted distance at the top of the screen. Straight-line distance and height difference (+/-) are shown at the bottom.
- Slope OFF: Displays the non-slope distance at the top of the screen. Other slope features will disappear.
Mode Setting
Standard Mode and Pin Finder Mode
Press the Mode Button to cycle between Standard and Scan modes. Mode changes are only possible when the targeting crosshair is displayed (not when the focus square is active).
- Press the Power/Measurement Button to display the distance with vibration feedback.
- Press and hold the Power/Measurement Button for 2-3 seconds to activate Pin Finder Mode. This mode identifies the closest target, even if there are objects behind it, ensuring accurate measurement to the pin.
- To use Pin Finder Mode effectively, aim at an object behind the pin (e.g., a tree), then move the targeting crosshair towards the pin.
Scan Mode
This mode is useful for measuring distances to multiple targets.
- Press the Power/Measurement Button once to initiate a 5-second continuous scan, displaying distances to various targets.
- In Scan Mode, the device measures distance upon the initial press of the Power/Measurement button.
Safety Warnings, Care, and Maintenance
Please read the following precautions carefully before using the device:
- Do NOT aim directly at the sun or into the eyepiece, as this may cause eyesight loss.
- Do NOT turn on the device while looking into the laser aperture or objective lens.
- The device may fail to measure distance through glass.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may damage the unit.
- Keep the device away from children.
- If any liquid or substance gets on the device, clean it immediately with the provided cloth.
- The device has basic water resistance; avoid heavy rain or submersion in water.
- Do NOT disassemble the device, as this will void the warranty.
- Be aware that the carrying pouch may cause discoloration on light-colored clothing or accessories.
- Customer-induced defects are not eligible for free repair.
WARNING
GOLFBUDDY is not liable for damages caused by user misuse. Warranty may be void even if it is still in effect.
Troubleshooting:
- Unit does not turn on: Check battery polarity, battery level, and ensure the Power/Measurement button is functioning correctly.
- Distances cannot be obtained: Verify the mode setting (Standard/Scan), ensure the lens and laser receiver are not obstructed, adjust focus for a clear target view. Note that measurements may be affected by dark or moving targets, reflective surfaces, small objects, glass, backlighting, and weather conditions (fog, rain). Measurement is not possible for distances below 1 meter or above 880 yards.
- Viewfinder display is not clear: Adjust the diopter dial for a clear view of the distance and display. Check the battery level.

Limited Warranty
Warranty Period
GOLFBUDDY products are covered by a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for two (2) years from the date of original retail purchase. GOLFBUDDY may, at its discretion, replace or repair defective parts or issue credit.
Eligibility
This warranty applies only to the original authorized purchasers. Proof of purchase, including date, place, and amount paid, is required for warranty claims. The product must be returned in its original packaging with all accessories and manuals.

Contact GOLFBUDDY technical support at cs@golfbuddyglobal.com or visit help.golfbuddyglobal.com to obtain a Return Authorization Number. All returns must include the original purchase receipt and Return Authorization Number.
Warranty Exclusions
GOLFBUDDY disclaims all warranties, express or implied, except for those expressly stated. This includes warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. GOLFBUDDY is not responsible for products not manufactured by GOLFBUDDY or for damage resulting from:
- Purchases through unauthorized channels.
- Damage during transit.
- Improper use, storage, or handling; use with non-GOLFBUDDY components; misuse; or operation outside recommended settings.
- Modification or alteration of the product by the purchaser or unauthorized service providers.
- Accidental or intentional damage.
- Loss of software, firmware, or data during repair.
- Use of the product in violation of any country's laws.
Limitation of Warranty
GOLFBUDDY shall not be liable for indirect, special, consequential, or liquidated damages. GOLFBUDDY's total liability is limited to the purchase price of the product.
