Warnings and Safety Precautions
General Safety:
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Never use the hood without the correctly installed filter.
Heat: Accessible parts can become hot during use of the cooktop.
Ventilation & Fire Safety:
- Do not use ventilation ducts that are used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
- When the range hood is used in conjunction with other appliances burning gas or other fuels, ensure adequate ventilation of the room.
- Flambéing dishes under the hood is strictly prohibited. Open flames can damage filters and cause a fire. Avoid this.
- Frying processes must be supervised, paying attention to prevent overheating of cooking oil.
- Strictly follow local authority regulations regarding exhaust systems.
Environmental Protection (WEEE):
This appliance is marked in accordance with the European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
The symbol on the product or on the accompanying documentation indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead, it should be taken to an appropriate collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. For more information, contact your local authority, household waste disposal service, or the shop where you purchased the product.
Power Cord: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
Installation:
- Refer to the diagrams on the first pages for letter and number references. Follow the instructions in this manual precisely.
- The manufacturer is not liable for any problems, damage, or fires caused by the appliance due to failure to follow the instructions provided in this manual.
- Do not mount the hood on a ceiling that cannot support its weight (e.g., plasterboard).
- Do not install the hood inside a cabinet.
- Do not seal, grout, or silicone the appliance to the wall; it is designed for surface mounting.
- The chimney should be easily removable for maintenance purposes if mounted above furniture or shelves.
Airflow Modes:
- The hood is equipped with an upper air outlet (B) for external exhaust on models with a chimney (suction version A - duct not supplied).
- If kitchen fumes and vapors cannot be vented outdoors, the hood can be used in recirculation mode (F). Installing an active carbon filter (F) allows recirculation of fumes and vapors through the upper grate (G).
Electrical Connection:
- A socket for connecting to the electrical mains must be located near the hood.
- The wiring must be equipped with a protective device with a rated current of 30 mA.
- The mains voltage must match the voltage indicated on the rating plate inside the hood.
- The hood has a 1,250 mm long electrical cable with or without a plug. If it has a plug, connect it to a socket that complies with current legislation and is accessible. If the cable has no plug (direct connection to the mains), connect the hood to the electrical mains according to the rules for connecting appliances that ensure multi-pole disconnection from the mains. Ensure sufficient contact opening distance for overvoltage category III.
Cooktop Operation: When the cooktop is operating, the hood must always be switched on at least at the first speed.
Performance Measurement: Performance measurements are carried out according to Regulation (EU) No. 65/2014 - ref: IEC 61591.
Cooktop Alignment: To ensure proper air intake, the cooktop surface should be aligned with the size of the hood. Examples:
- 60 cm hood for a 60 cm wide cooktop (up to 4 burners)
- 90 cm hood for a 78 cm wide cooktop (up to 5 burners)
- 90 cm hood for a 90 cm wide cooktop (up to 6 burners)
Operation
A. Light On/Off:
Fan Speeds:
- 1-4: Lowest suction (1), medium (2), highest (3), turbo speed (4).
- A long press on a button will cause the LED light to flash, activating the timer. The timer will stop after 5 minutes and turn off the motor.
- Turbo Speed (4): Activating this button engages the "High Speed" suction. It will turn off automatically after approximately 7 minutes, then revert to speed 3.
- Note: The appliance will automatically switch off 4 hours after the last button press.
Maintenance
Before performing any maintenance on the hood, disconnect its electrical power supply.
Cleaning
The hood should be cleaned regularly, both the interior (except the area around the grease filters) and the exterior. Use a cloth dampened with denatured alcohol or neutral cleaning agents. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
Caution: Failure to follow the rules for cleaning the hood and replacing/cleaning filters poses a fire risk. We advise you to follow the recommended instructions.
Grease Filter
Must be cleaned monthly with non-abrasive detergents, either by hand or in a dishwasher on a low temperature and short cycle. After washing in the dishwasher, the grease filter may slightly discolor, but this does not affect its filtering capability.
Carbon Filter
Active carbon filters (F) are not washable and cannot be regenerated. They must be replaced every 6 months with normal use. Active carbon filters absorb cooking odors.
Bulb Replacement
Warning! Before touching the bulbs, ensure they are cool.
LED Lights
If the lighting unit fails, contact technical support to have the entire unit replaced.
Reduced Environmental Impact
For lower energy consumption of the kitchen hood, it is recommended to:
- Always use the lowest ventilation speed that suits the cooking intensity.
- Do not leave the appliance switched on for more than 15 minutes after cooking is finished.
- Always turn off the hood's lighting if you move away from the cooking surface during cooking.
