Wyze Room Sensor Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Wyze

Thank you for getting your hands on a Wyze Room Sensor. If this is your first Wyze product, welcome to the Wyze family! You have committed to a better, more connected lifestyle. This guide will help you get things set up.

Please read this guide carefully before setting up the device and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

Display Screen Guide

The sensor display shows:

  • Bluetooth indicator
  • Battery Level indicator
  • Temperature reading
  • Humidity reading
  • Comfort Level indicator
  • Motion Detector status
  • PIR Motion Sensor status

Combinations

The Wyze Room Sensor works with the Wyze Thermostat.

Mounting options include:

  • On the wall
  • On the stand

Setup

  1. Insert the included batteries into the sensor's battery compartment.
  2. Download the Wyze app and sign in to your Wyze account. Tap on your Wyze Thermostat in the app, then tap the pill icon at the top.
  3. Tap the "+" plus icon to add your sensor. Follow the in-app instructions to finish setup.
  4. Mount the room sensor at least 5 feet (1.5 meters) above the ground. To prevent signal shielding, do not mount the sensor on or near metallic surfaces. Ensure the PIR Motion Sensor is not blocked.
  5. You're all set! Explore your new room sensor's features in the Wyze app.

Important: Do not place the sensor in direct sunlight, near windows, or near vents.

Comfort Level

The sensor indicates comfort levels based on temperature (T) and humidity (H):

  • Ideal: 66℉ ≤ T ≤ 80℉ and 20% ≤ H ≤ 85%
  • Too Warm/Humid: T > 80℉ and H > 85%
  • Too Cold/Dry: T < 66℉ and H < 20%

Low Battery Alert

Replace the battery when the battery level is low. The battery level is displayed at the top of the sensor's screen.

Reset/Connectivity Button

Single Press: Used to set up the sensor.

Press and Hold: To reset the sensor, press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds.

Restrictions and Warnings

Restrictions

  • Do not ingest battery. Risk of chemical burn. Keep batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is swallowed.
  • Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
  • Do not place the sensor in direct sunlight.
  • The Wyze Room Sensor is not weatherproof or IP rated and is not intended for outdoor use.
  • If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, its protection may be impaired.
  • Do not operate in conditions above 90% humidity, as this can cause condensation, icing, or fog, leading to damage.
