Specifications

Installation Considerations

• Read and understand all instructions before installation.
• For safety, disconnect the negative battery lead before starting.
• Run all wires before mounting speakers for easier assembly.
• Use high-quality connectors for reliable installation and to minimize signal/power loss.
• Be cautious when drilling: avoid gas tanks, fuel lines, brake/hydraulic lines, vacuum lines, or electrical wiring. For boat installations, avoid drilling through the main hull.
• Never run wires underneath the vehicle; route them inside the vehicle or hull for best protection.
• Avoid routing wires over or through sharp edges. Use rubber or plastic grommets to protect wires passing through metal, especially the firewall.

Mounting

Flush Mount Option

1. Determine the mounting location, ensuring sufficient depth and clearance for vehicle functions (e.g., windows, locks). Mark the hole location.

2. Drill a 1.75-inch (45mm) hole using a standard hole saw.

3. Secure the inner cup to the outer cup using the center screw, ensuring balanced pressure on the mounting surface.

4. Feed speaker wires through the cutout, observing proper polarity (WHITE wire "+", BLACK wire "-").

5. Snap the tweeter into place and secure with the trim ring. The protective grille is integrated.

Optional Horn Loading Mounting

1. Determine the mounting location, ensuring sufficient depth and clearance for vehicle functions.

2. Mark the location for the mounting hole.

3. Cut or drill a 3-5/8" (91mm) hole for the flange.

4. Insert the flange, mark screw locations, and predrill mounting screw holes.

5. Assemble the horn flange, o-ring, tweeter, and retaining ring, aligning the tab for proper orientation.

6. Feed speaker wires through the cutout, observing proper polarity (WHITE wire "+", BLACK wire "-").

7. Secure the flange with the included stainless steel mounting hardware.

System Setup

Add On Tweeter with PM2 Speaker

Connect the tweeter to a full-range amplifier and PM2 speaker using the provided crossover. Ensure your amplifier is stable at 2Ω per channel for this configuration.

Individual Tweeter

Connect the tweeter directly to a full-range amplifier using the provided crossover. Ensure your amplifier is stable at 4Ω per channel for this configuration.

Wiring diagrams illustrate connecting the tweeter to a full-range amplifier, either as part of a system with a PM2 speaker or as an individual unit, using a crossover. Terminal labels are: Amp (+) Input, Twt (+) Output, Twt (-) Output, Amp (-) Input.

What is Covered

This warranty applies to Rockford Fosgate products sold by Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealers in the U.S.A. or its possessions. Products purchased in other countries are covered by that country's Distributor.

Who is Covered

This warranty covers the original purchaser of Rockford product bought from an Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer in the U.S.A. Proof of purchase (receipt) is required for service.

Defective products during the warranty period will be repaired or replaced at Rockford's discretion.

What is Not Covered

• Damage from accident, abuse, improper operation, water, theft, shipping.
• Costs related to removal or reinstallation.
• Service performed by unauthorized personnel.
• Products with defaced, altered, or removed serial numbers.
• Subsequent damage to other components.
• Products purchased outside the U.S.
• Products not purchased from an Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer.

Limit on Implied Warranties
