Planning and Installation Notes
General Installation:
The specific cut-out dimensions must be observed based on whether the installation is surface-mounted or flush-mounted.
When combining multiple Vario 400 series appliances, a VA 420 connection strip must be placed between them. Ensure the correct strip is used for the installation type.
For thin countertops, ensure adequate support structures are in place to handle the appliance weight and additional loads.
Flush Mounting Specifics:
Installation is suitable for countertops made of stone, synthetics, or solid wood. Ensure heat-resistant and watertight sealing of cut edges. Consult the countertop manufacturer for suitable heat-resistant filler materials.
The groove for the appliance must be continuous and even to ensure uniform placement on the gasket. Avoid discontinuous lining.
Joint width may vary due to manufacturing tolerances.
For individual cut-outs when installing multiple appliances, maintain a division bar of at least 2" (50 mm) between them.
The appliance operates exclusively with magnetic (induction) iron pots and pans. Flat-bottom cookware is recommended for optimal heat distribution. The wok pan WP 400 001 is not compatible with this appliance.
Adequate ventilation from the rear or base of the cabinet is crucial for correct operation. Refer to the installation instructions for detailed guidance.
The appliance can be snapped into the countertop from above.
Appliance weight: approximately 68 lb. (30.8 kg).
Refer to pages 104-106 for additional planning notes and page 143 for installation details regarding air ducting.
