Assembly

  1. Place the base cover on top of the rubber base and insert the bottom of the extension pole into the base hole.
  2. Gently lay the base and extension pole on its side and screw the black wing nut (found in the plastic bag) onto the bottom of the base securely.
  3. Set the base upright. Loosen the white cap on the top of the extension pole and pull the chrome inner pole up. Tighten the white cap to secure the chrome inner pole in place.
  4. Pick up the motor housing and look at the bottom. There is a screw that may need to be loosened but should not be removed.
  5. Slip the motor housing onto the chrome pole extension and tighten the screw on the motor housing to secure it.
  6. Unscrew and remove the white plastic nut. Place the back grill onto the shaft, ensuring it aligns with the pins. The handle on the back of the grill should be on top. Replace and tighten the white plastic nut.
  7. Remove and discard the black plastic sheath on the shaft. Place the blades on the shaft, ensuring they fit securely with the pins. Place the white fan knob (found in a plastic bag) onto the shaft. The white fan knob is reverse threaded and must be turned counter-clockwise (to the left) to tighten securely.
  8. With the fan upright, loosen the grill ring screw (do not remove). Place the screw end of the grill ring on the bottom of the back grill and maneuver the ring onto the rim of the back grill, working up the sides.
  9. Starting from the bottom, gently snap the front grill into the grill ring, working up the sides until it is in place.
  10. Tighten the grill ring screw with a Phillips head screwdriver until there is approximately a 1/4" or more gap between the 2 ends of the grill ring. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLOSE THE GAP.
  11. To adjust the height, unscrew the white cap slightly to allow the chrome inner pole to slide up and down. Adjust to the desired height and tighten the cap securely. Do NOT hang the fan or place anything on it.
  12. To adjust the tilt of the fan head, unscrew the tilt head knob slightly. Push or pull the fan head back or forward gently to the desired angle. Tighten the tilt head knob securely.
  13. To operate oscillation, push down the oscillation knob. To stop oscillation, pull up the oscillation knob. To move the fan, use the handle on the back of the motor housing.
  14. To control fan speed, use the control buttons on the front of the motor housing: (0) is OFF, (1) is LOW, (2) is MEDIUM, and (3) is HIGH.

General Information and Safety Instructions

PLEASE READ AND SAVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE PEDESTAL FAN.

When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be observed, including the following:

  1. Always turn the fan off before removing the plug from the outlet.
  2. Always turn the fan off and unplug it before cleaning.
  3. To protect against electrical hazards, do not place the fan in water or other liquids. Do not allow the fan to become wet or damp.

  5. Do not leave the fan unattended when it is plugged in. Turn the fan off when leaving the fan for an extended period.
  6. Use the fan only for its intended use as described in these operating instructions.
  7. Do not operate any appliance if its cord or plug is damaged, after the appliance has malfunctioned, or after it has been dropped or damaged in any way. Always follow the warranty instructions.
  8. Place fan on a dry, flat, level surface to avoid it overturning.

  15. Do not run the cord under carpeting or cover with throw rugs, runners or similar coverings, or under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic areas where it will not be tripped over.
  16. This fan employs overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit situation. If the fuse blows, unplug the fan from the outlet. Replace the fuse (see instructions next page) and check the fan. If the replacement fuse blows, a short circuit may be present and you should contact customer service for instructions.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not use the fan with any solid-state speed control device.

Polarized Plug Information: This appliance has a polarized plug (one pin is wider than the other) to reduce the risk of electrical shock. This plug is designed to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, try reversing its position. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to alter, dismantle, or find another way around this safety feature.

Fuse Replacement:

  1. Grasp the plug and remove it from the receptacle or outlet device. CAUTION: Do not unplug by pulling on the power cord.
  2. Open the fuse compartment cover on top of the plug by sliding it towards the prongs.

  4. Replace the fuse with a 2.5amp, 125-volt fuse (not included).
  5. Close the fuse compartment cover by sliding it away from the prongs.
  6. WARNING: Risk of fire. Do not replace the plug, as it contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be removed. Contact customer service if the plug is damaged.
