Overview

This document provides operating instructions for the EASY HOME 2-IN-1 Rechargeable Vacuum Cleaner, Model MD 18418. It covers usage, safety, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Proper Use

The vacuum cleaner is intended for dry dirt (dust, crumbs, fluff) from hard floors, carpets, and upholstery in private households, including motor vehicles. It is not suitable for vacuuming liquids.

Important Usage Guidelines:

  • Only use the supplied power adapter.
  • Do not modify the appliance or use unapproved accessories.
  • Use only supplied or approved spare parts and accessories.
  • Follow all instructions, especially safety information.

Safety Information

General Safety:

  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Children over 8 years and persons with reduced capabilities may use under supervision.
  • Children must not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and maintenance by children must be supervised.
  • Keep children under 8 away from the appliance and power cord.

  • Use only the provided power adapter for charging.
  • Do not connect the appliance to the power adapter during operation.
  • Connect only to a properly installed power point matching specifications.
  • Ensure the power point is accessible for quick unplugging.
  • Never pull the plug by the cord. Do not use extension cords.
  • Power adapter is for dry rooms only.
  • Use vacuum cleaner in closed rooms; avoid dripping or splashing water.
  • Do not handle the appliance with wet hands while charging.
  • Check appliance, adapter, and cord for damage before and after each use. Do not use if damaged.
  • Switch off and unplug before cleaning.
  • Never immerse the vacuum cleaner in water.
  • Contact service for damage during transport.
  • Do not make unauthorized modifications or attempt repairs yourself.
  • Damaged cords/adapters must be replaced with identical types.
  • Keep power cord away from hot appliance parts.

⚠️ WARNING! Risk of explosion!

  • Do not vacuum flammable liquids or solids.
  • Do not use near highly flammable materials.
  • Do not vacuum sharp objects, matches, hot ash, or toner dust.

⚠️ CAUTION! Harm to health!

  • Inhaling dust when emptying the dust container can cause harm.
  • Empty dust container in open air into a waste container.
  • Empty and clean dust container and filters regularly.

⚠️ CAUTION! Risk of injury!

  • Accidental activation of the brush roller can lead to crushing. Remove handheld unit before cleaning the brush roller.
  • Keep hair and clothing away from the suction opening.
  • Use only with filters and dust container fitted.
  • Do not cover suction/exhaust openings to prevent overheating.
  • Always switch off before changing accessories or cleaning.
  • Never use without filter elements.
  • Do not store near heat sources.
  • Take care when cleaning stairs to avoid falls.
  • Do not vacuum chemical products, plaster, stone dust, cement.
  • Avoid extreme conditions: high humidity, extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, open fire.

Use of Rechargeable Batteries

The appliance contains a lithium-ion battery.

⚠️ WARNING! Risk of explosion!

  • Batteries can explode if exposed to extreme heat.
  • Do not throw batteries into fire.
  • Never expose batteries to excessive heat (sunlight, fire, strong artificial light).

ℹ️ NOTICE! Risk of damage to the battery.

  • Avoid strong impacts and vibrations.
  • Charge regularly and fully. Do not leave discharged for long periods.
  • Contact service if the appliance won't switch on after charging (operating light is blue).
  • Use only the provided power adapter.
  • Do not use damaged chargers.
  • If battery fluid leaks, keep away from eyes/skin. Rinse affected areas with water and seek medical advice.
  • Do not store in hot, cold, damp, or dirty environments.
  • Do not charge the battery for extended periods if the vacuum cleaner is not used.
  • After a long period, multiple charge/discharge cycles may be needed for full capacity.
  • Dispose of used batteries environmentally friendly (see Disposal section).

⚠️ DANGER! Risk of suffocation!!

Keep packaging material (plastic film, bags) away from children.

Remove product and packaging material. Check contents; contact seller within 14 days if anything is missing.

Preparing the Appliance

Remove all packaging material and protective stickers.

Place the holder (20) in the base (16) until it latches.

Charging the Battery

Charge the floor vacuum cleaner using the provided power adapter and charging station.

  • Switch the floor vacuum cleaner off before charging.
  • Ensure the handheld vacuum cleaner (6) is latched into the floor vacuum cleaner housing.
  • Connect the power adapter to the charging station (16) via the socket (17).

ℹ️ NOTICE! Risk of damage!

Guide the cord through the cord duct on the charging station base and to the rear recess.

  • Place the floor vacuum cleaner (4) with the handheld unit into the charging station, ensuring it is upright and the locking groove (12) engages the latching spring (21).
  • Connect the power adapter to the socket. The charge indicator lights red while charging and blue when fully charged.
  • Once fully charged, unplug the power supply unit and remove the jack plug.
  • Charge the battery for at least 8 hours before first use.
  • Always charge if suction power declines significantly.
  • The vacuum cleaner cannot be operated during charging.

Using the Handheld Vacuum Cleaner MD 18418 H

  • To detach: Press unlock buttons (5) and lift the handheld unit (6) from the housing (4). See Diagram B.
  • Ensure the coarse filter (24) and dust filter (23) are fitted snugly in the dust container (11), and the container is firmly attached to the motor block. Refer to the 'Cleaning the dust container' section for details.
  • Attach accessories: Use the crevice tool (18) for hard-to-reach areas or the upholstery brush (19) for delicate surfaces.
  • To switch on: Press the on/off switch (7). The operating LED lights blue.
  • To switch off: Press the on/off switch (7) again.

Using the Floor Vacuum Cleaner

Assembling the Floor Vacuum Cleaner

Place the handheld vacuum cleaner (6) into the floor vacuum cleaner (4). Insert the suction opening first (Step A), then press it into the housing until it latches audibly (Step B). See Diagram C.

Using the Floor Vacuum Cleaner

To remove from the charging station, tilt it slightly forward and pull upward, holding the base with your foot.

Operation:

  • Switch on using the on/off switch (1). The operating LED on the handheld unit (7) lights blue.
  • The cleaner starts in economy mode (reduced suction, longer runtime).
  • Press the +/- button to change to normal suction mode. Press again to return to economy mode.
  • Switch off using the on/off switch (1) again.
  • To return to the charging station, position it with a slight downward slope and insert it.

Cleaning and Care

⚠️ DANGER! Risk of electric shock!

Always switch off and unplug the appliance and power adapter before cleaning.

  • Empty the dust container (11) and clean the coarse and dust filters (24, 23) ideally after each use, or when the dust level reaches the MAX marking.
  • Clean suction openings as needed.
  • Do not use solvents, corrosive, or gaseous cleaning agents. Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth.

Cleaning the Dust Container

Recommended after each use for consistent suction power:

  • Ensure the appliance is switched off.
  • Detach the handheld vacuum cleaner (6) from the floor vacuum cleaner (4).
  • Press the unlock button (10) on the handheld vacuum cleaner.
  • Remove the dust container (11) from the motor base.
  • Remove the coarse and dust filters (24, 23) with the dust container. See Diagram D.
  • Empty the dust container into a rubbish bin.
  • Clean the filters and dust container under running water. It is not necessary to clean with water every time. Do not put the dust container in a dishwasher.
  • Reinsert filters once dry.
  • Place the dust container back on the motor base, aligning the locking lug and folding shut until the unlock button (10) latches.

ℹ️ NOTICE! Risk of damage!

Ensure dust container filters are correctly installed before use.

Cleaning the Suction Openings

Dirt and dust can accumulate, reducing suction power. Clean at regular intervals.

  • Switch off the appliance. Remove the handheld vacuum cleaner from the housing.
  • Remove dirt and dust from suction openings of the floor vacuum cleaner, floor tool, suction tube, crevice tool (18), and upholstery brush (19).

Cleaning the Brush and Floor Tool

To clean the brush of the floor tool (13):

  • Push the locking bar (15) towards the front edge of the floor tool and remove it. See Diagram E.
  • Remove the brush, clear fluff, and clean under running water.
  • After drying, reinsert the brush in reverse order and secure the locking bar.
  • Reassemble the floor vacuum cleaner as described previously.

Storage

Place the appliance back in the charging station after each use.

For storage longer than four weeks, fully charge the battery and disconnect from the power supply.

The appliance can be stored for at least three months. To save space, fold the handle forward:

  • Press the handle unlocking mechanism (3) (Step A).
  • Fold the handle of the floor vacuum cleaner (4) fully forward (Step B). See Diagram F.

Troubleshooting

If the appliance malfunctions, try the following solutions. Never attempt self-repair; contact service for necessary repairs.

Problem Remedy
The vacuum cleaner is not working Battery not charged sufficiently.
The suction power has become weak Suction tools are blocked. Switch off appliance. Remove blockage.
Dust filter is dirty. Clean dust filter.
The vacuum cleaner makes strange noises during operation Switch off immediately. Suction tool is blocked. Remove blockage.
The charge indicator LED does not light up during charging Protective stickers on the contacts of the handheld vacuum cleaner have not been removed. Remove stickers.
The charge indicator LED flashes red and the vacuum cleaner is not charging. Please contact the Service Centre.

Disposal

PACKAGING

The packaging is made of recyclable materials and protects the product during transport.

APPLIANCE

The appliance contains an integrated rechargeable battery. At the end of its service life, do not dispose of it with normal household waste. Dispose of it in accordance with local legal provisions for recycling and minimizing environmental impact. Contact your local waste disposal company or authority for more information.
