Please read this user's guide before using your phone.
Product Overview
A cordless telephone handset and its base station are shown. The handset is black with a keypad and screen. The base station is also black and appears to be the charging cradle and connection point for the phone line and power.
This manual provides instructions for setting up, using, and troubleshooting your Alcatel D610 series cordless phone.
Getting Started
Connecting Your Phone
- Connect the telephone line cord to the telephone socket and the base station.
- Plug the power adapter into the base station and an electrical outlet.
- Insert the batteries into the handset.
Initial Battery Charge
Before first use, charge the handset batteries continuously for 15 hours.
Note: Only use the supplied power adapter and rechargeable batteries.
Phone Function Keys
- [OK/Menu Key]: Selects options or opens menus.
- [Back/Clear/Intercom Key]: Returns to the previous screen, clears input, or initiates intercom.
- [Navigation Key]: Navigates through menus and options (Up/Down/Left/Right).
- [Talk Key]: Answers or initiates calls.
- [Hang-up/Exit Key]: Ends calls or exits menus.
- [Redial Key]: Accesses the last dialed numbers.
- [Recall/Flash Key]: Accesses operator services (subject to subscription).
- [Star Key]: (*) Used for special functions.
- [Hash Key]: (#) Used for special functions.
- [Phonebook Key]: Accesses the phonebook.
- [Paging Key]: Locates the handset or starts the registration procedure.
Display Icons
- [Battery Full Symbol]: Indicates the battery is fully charged.
- [Battery Low Symbol]: Indicates the battery is fully discharged.
- [Call Connected Symbol]: Indicates an external call is connected or held.
- [Incoming Call Blinking Symbol]: Icon blinks when receiving an incoming call.
- [Missed Call Symbol]: Indicates new missed calls.
- [Alarm Set Symbol]: Appears when the alarm clock is activated.
- [Ringer Off Symbol]: Appears when the ringer volume is turned off.
- [Signal Good Symbol]: Indicates the handset is registered and within range of the base station.
- [Searching for Base Symbol]: Icon blinks when the handset is out of range or is searching for a base.
Basic Settings
Change Display Language
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, select Language, choose your desired language, and confirm.
Set Time and Date
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, then DATE & TIME. Select SET DATE to enter the current date (DD-MM-YY) and SET TIME to enter the current time (HH-MM). Confirmation is required.
Note: If you subscribe to Caller Display, time and date may be set automatically.
Change Handset Name
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, select RENAME HS, enter the new name (max 10 characters), and confirm.
Making and Answering Calls
Make a Call
Dial the number and press the [Talk Key], or press the [Talk Key] first then dial.
- From Redial List: Navigate the list using the [Navigation Key] and press [Talk Key].
- From Call Log: Navigate the list and press [Talk Key].
- From Phonebook: Access the phonebook, select a contact, and press [Talk Key].
- From Direct Memories: Long press on the assigned memory key (e.g., KEY 1).
Answer and End a Call
Press the [Talk Key] to answer an incoming call. Press the [Hang-up/Exit Key] to end a call.
Use Handsfree
Press the [Handsfree Key] to activate or deactivate handsfree mode during a call.
Adjust Earpiece Volume
During a call, use the [Navigation Key] (Up/Down) to select volume levels from 1 to 5.
Phonebook Management
Store a Contact
Navigate to PHONEBOOK, select ADD, enter the contact's name, then the number. You can save the contact as VIP (marked with '!') or select a melody before saving.
Note: The phonebook is stored in the base unit and shared among handsets in Duo/Trio systems.
Access Phonebook
Press the [Phonebook Key] or navigate via MENU to PHONEBOOK. Use the [Navigation Key] to browse or press a numeric key corresponding to the first letter of the entry.
Modify a Phonebook Entry
Navigate to PHONEBOOK, select the entry to EDIT, modify the name and number, select a melody, and confirm.
Delete a Phonebook Entry
Navigate to PHONEBOOK, select the entry to DELETE, and confirm.
Delete All Phonebook Entries
Navigate to PHONEBOOK, select DELETE ALL, and confirm.
Add/Edit Direct Access Memory
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, select DIRECT MEM., choose a key (KEY 1, KEY 2, KEY 3), store the number, and confirm.
Delete Direct Access Memory
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, select DIRECT MEM., choose a key, press to delete the stored number, and confirm.
Redial and Call Log
Using the Redial List
Press the [Redial Key] or navigate using the [Navigation Key] to browse the last 10 dialed numbers.
Save Redial Number to Phonebook
Select a redial entry, choose ADD TO PB, enter the contact name (max 12 characters), select a melody, and confirm.
Using the Call Log
Access the call log by navigating to it. It stores up to 20 external calls.
Save Call Log Entry to Phonebook
Select a call log entry, choose ADD TO PB, enter the contact name (max 12 characters), select a melody, and confirm.
Delete a Call Log Entry
Navigate to the entry, select DELETE, and confirm.
Delete All Call Log Entries
Navigate to DELETE ALL and confirm.
Intercom Functions (Duo / Trio Versions)
Intercom Another Handset
- For 2 registered handsets: Press the [Intercom Key].
- For more than 2 handsets: Navigate to select the handset number and press [Intercom Key].
- To ring all handsets: Navigate to select CALL ALL and press [Intercom Key].
Transfer an External Call
During an external call, press the [Intercom Key]. If more than 2 handsets are registered, select the desired handset number. Press the [Talk Key] on the called handset to answer. Then, press the [Hang-up/Exit Key] on the first handset to transfer the call. The external call is now transferred.
Note: If there is no answer, press the [Hang-up/Exit Key] to resume the external call.
Establish a Three-Party Conference Call
During a call, press [Intercom Key], enter the handset number, and have the called handset answer. Then, long press the [Talk Key] on the first handset. 'CONFERENCE' will be displayed when established.
Handset Tone Settings
Set Ring Volume
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, then RING SETUP, select RING VOLUME, and choose a level from 1 to 5. Confirm.
External Ring Melody
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, then RING SETUP, select EXT. RING, and choose from 10 available melodies. Confirm.
Activate/Deactivate Key Tone
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, then TONE SETUP, select KEY TONE, and choose ON or OFF. Confirm.
Activate/Deactivate Auto Answer
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, select AUTO ANSWER, and choose ON or OFF. Confirm.
Date and Time Format
Set Time Format
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, then DATE & TIME, select TIME FORMAT, and choose 12 HR or 24 HR. Confirm.
Set Date Format
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, then DATE & TIME, select DATE FORMAT, and choose DD-MM-YY or MM-DD-YY. Confirm.
Set Alarm
Navigate to HS SETTINGS, select ALARM, choose OFF or ON. If ON, enter the alarm time (HH-MM), set SNOOZE to OFF or ON, and confirm.
Advanced Features
Change Master PIN
The Master PIN (default 0000) is used for handset registration. Navigate to BS SETTINGS, select CHANGE PIN, enter the current PIN, enter the new PIN twice, and confirm.
Note: If the PIN is forgotten, it can be reset to 0000 via a handset reset.
Register Your Handset
Up to 4 handsets can be registered to one base station. On the base station, press and hold the [Paging Key] for 5 seconds. On the handset, navigate to REGISTRATION, enter the Master PIN, and confirm. 'PLEASE WAIT' will be displayed.
Unregister Your Handset
Navigate to BS SETTINGS, select DELETE HS, enter the Master PIN, select the handset number to unregister, and confirm.
Change Recall Time
Navigate to BS SETTINGS, select FLASH TIME, and choose SHORT, MEDIUM, or LONG. Confirm.
Change Dial Mode
The default setting is TONE (MF or DTMF).
Reset Unit
Navigate to DEFAULT, enter the Master PIN, and confirm to reset the unit to factory settings.
Set Area Code
- Press the [Navigation Key] to select BS SETTINGS.
- Press the [Navigation Key] to select AREA CODE.
- Enter the 2 or 3-digit area code.
- Press the [OK Key] to confirm.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter difficulties, try the following:
General Tip: Remove handset batteries for 1 minute, disconnect base power, then reconnect power and reinstall batteries.
Always Check First:
- Ensure all installation steps are followed.
- Verify all connectors are firmly inserted.
- Check that the base unit has mains power.
- Ensure handset batteries are correctly installed and charged.
Common Issues:
- Cannot Make or Answer Calls: Check if the handset is switched on (press and hold [Talk Key]). Ensure the base unit has power. Verify the telephone line cable. Move the handset closer to the base. Check battery level and recharge if low. Try power cycling the base unit.
- Keys Not Working: Ensure batteries are fitted. Check battery level and recharge.
- Cannot Make Outside Call: Try repositioning the base unit away from electrical interference. Move the handset closer to the base. Ensure base unit has power.
- Phone Does Not Ring: Check base unit power.
- Beeps During Call: You may be out of range. Move closer to the base. Check battery level and recharge.
- Low Earpiece Volume: Ensure the earpiece is correctly positioned over the ear. Adjust volume using the [Navigation Key].
- Battery Cells Running Low Quickly: Ensure batteries were charged for 15 hours initially. Replace batteries if necessary. Check base unit power connection.
- Battery Warning Despite Charging: Batteries may need replacement. Dispose of used batteries safely. Do not use non-rechargeable batteries. Disconnect other devices on the line and try calling again.

Safety Information
- This telephone is not designed for emergency calls during a main power failure.
- Do not use the telephone to report gas leaks or other explosion hazards.
- Do not open the device or power supply to avoid electrical shock. Batteries contain hazardous chemicals.
- Place the telephone in a dry location, away from heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.
- Keep the phone at least 1 meter away from other electrical appliances to avoid radio signal interference.

The symbol [Recycle Symbol] indicates that this electronic appliance should be collected separately and not disposed of with household waste to help protect the environment.
