Charger Operation and Indicators
The CTEK TIME TO GO CT5 charger provides clear indicators and modes for operation:
Battery Connection
Connect the charger to your 12V or 24V battery. Attach the red clamp ? to the positive (+) terminal and the black clamp ⚫ to the negative (-) terminal of the battery. Ensure a secure connection.
Charging Status Indicators
- More than X hours of charge time left: Indicates that the charging process will take longer than X hours.
- Battery ready to use: Signifies that the battery is sufficiently charged for normal use.
- Fully charge/maintenance charge: Shows that the battery is fully charged and may be in a maintenance charging phase.
- Battery ready to crank once: Indicates the battery has enough charge for a single engine start.
Charger Modes
Select the appropriate mode using the MODE button. The PROGRAM button allows for specific program selection.
NORMAL: Standard charging mode for most 12V lead-acid batteries.
AGM: Optimized charging for AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries.
RECOND: A deep reconditioning mode for batteries that require a boost or desulfation.
PROGRAM: Allows selection of specific charging programs, often indicated by the 'PROGRAM' label.
Indicator Lights
- ERROR LAMP ❌: Illuminates if an error occurs during charging. Consult the manual or FAQ for troubleshooting.
- POWER LAMP ?: Indicates that the charger is connected to the mains power supply.

Battery Voltage Detection
