Getting Started

This section details the initial setup and connection of your CTEK CS ONE battery charger.

The CTEK CS ONE package typically includes:

Connection Steps

1. Step 1: Connect the appropriate battery cables (clamps or ring terminals) to your battery's positive (+) and negative (-) terminals.
2. Step 2: Plug the charger's power cable into a standard wall socket (?).
3. Step 3: Ensure the charger unit is securely connected.

Operation Modes

The CTEK CS ONE offers various modes for battery charging and maintenance.

Using the Button

• Mode Selection: Press the button on the charger unit to cycle through modes. A heart symbol (❤️) may indicate a specific mode.
• LED Indicators: Observe the LED indicators on the charger for status updates.

Charging Progress

The charger provides indications for charging progress and estimated times:

• Estimated charging times are indicated by circular displays: "> 8h", "~6h", "~4h", "~2h", "~1h".
• The charger may display "100%" and voltage information (e.g., 12V) when charging is complete or at a certain stage.

App Connectivity

Control and monitor your CTEK CS ONE using the CTEK app via Bluetooth.

Pairing and Connection

• Download the CTEK app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
• Enable Bluetooth (?) on your smartphone (?).
• Follow the in-app instructions to find and connect to your CTEK CS ONE (e.g., "CTEK_CS_ONE_XXXXXX").

Safety Information

Please read and follow all safety instructions carefully.

• Intended Use: This charger is designed solely for charging batteries that match its technical specifications. Do not use it for any other purpose.
• Manufacturer Guidelines: Always adhere to the operating instructions and safety guidelines provided by the battery manufacturer.
• Battery Types: Never attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
• Charger Placement: Do not place or cover the charger on the battery while charging. Ensure adequate ventilation for fan-cooled products, preventing dust intake.
• Cable Safety: Do not use chargers with damaged cables. Ensure cables are protected from hot surfaces, sharp edges, and other damage. Use only CTEK-approved original cables for replacements or extensions (max 3.0m). Cable extensions may cause electromagnetic interference.
• Electrical Safety: Ensure mains connection complies with local electrical installation regulations. Connect to an earthed socket if the charger requires it.
• Explosive Gases: Lead-acid batteries can emit explosive gases during charging. Prevent sparks near the battery and ensure good ventilation.
• Environmental Protection: Chargers with a protection class below IPX4 are for indoor use only. Protect the charger from rain and snow.
• Connection/Disconnection Order:
  • To Connect: Connect the charger to the battery's positive (+) terminal first, then the negative (-) terminal. Finally, connect the charger to the mains power supply (?).
  • To Disconnect: Disconnect the charger from the mains power supply first. Then, disconnect the battery's negative (-) terminal (or chassis ground), followed by the positive (+) terminal.
• Supervision: Do not leave batteries unattended for extended periods during charging. Manually disconnect the charger if any errors occur.
• Age and Usage Restrictions:
  • This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have received instruction regarding the use of the device by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children must be supervised when using the device to prevent misuse.
  • Children aged 8 years and older, and persons with reduced capabilities, may use the device if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • The device is not a toy. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• Temperature: Operate within the specified temperature range (-30°C / -22°F to 50°C / 122°F).
• Battery Status Indicators:
  • Happy face (?) generally indicates normal operation or good status.
  • Sad face (?) indicates a potential issue (e.g., battery condition, temperature, connection).
  • Warning symbols (e.g., ⚡, ?, ?, ❗) indicate specific hazards or errors.
• Error Handling: If an error is indicated (e.g., red 'X' on button, exclamation mark ❗), follow troubleshooting steps or consult the manual/support. Unplugging the charger (e.g., 00h:01m:00s) may be required.
• Battery Compatibility: Ensure the battery voltage (e.g., 12V) matches the charger's output. Incorrect voltage (e.g., 24V) may cause issues.
• Specific Warnings: Avoid short circuits (⚡), overheating (?), and potential explosions (?). Ensure proper ventilation (?️). Protect from extreme cold (❄️).
