Introduction

The Advantech ICR-4133/ICR-4233 router family represents a leading solution in industrial routers, leveraging the full potential of LTE Cat.6 technology. These routers are optimized for EMEA and global markets, offering unparalleled data transfer speeds, minimal latency, and exceptional network reliability. They are a superior choice for 4G/LTE data transfers across a diverse range of industrial applications, including energy market (oil & gas distribution, EV charging/electricity distribution), remote access for machine builders, transaction management (kiosks/lottery terminals/ticketing machines), smart city, CCTV camera, surveillance, and various monitoring applications.

A key advantage of LTE Cat.6 is its improved network capacity and reduced latency in cellular networks, crucial for real-time responsiveness in applications demanding immediate feedback or interaction, especially in densely populated areas.

The routers are built on a robust hardware platform featuring a 1.6 GHz CPU, complemented by 1 GB RAM and 3.35 GB of space for customer applications. This powerful processing capability supports edge computing, facilitating data processing and analysis closer to the network edge.

Standard ICR-4133/ICR-4233 models include two Gigabit Ethernet ports, one USB Host 3.0, a GNSS receiver, two SIM card readers, four digital inputs, and two digital outputs. The ICR-4233 further extends connectivity with two serial ports (RS232/RS485).

Optional configurations include two serial ports (RS232/RS485), four digital inputs, two digital outputs, and WiFi 6 (IEEE802.11 ax/ac/a/b/g/n 2.4 GHz/5 GHz/6 GHz, 2x2 MIMO) and Bluetooth V5.2.

Cybersecurity is a critical design consideration, with features like TPM 2.0 and a Tamper Button ensuring data integrity and safety for operation within critical infrastructure systems. Robust security measures enable confident deployment in sensitive environments.

Advanced networking features and management capabilities allow remote configuration and management, supporting multiple configuration profiles, automatic firmware updates, and customizable software options. Adaptability is enhanced through RouterApps (Docker, Node-RED, etc.) and customized scripting on top of the ICR-OS based on the Linux kernel.

For streamlined management and deployment, the ICR-4133/4233 router family can be efficiently handled using the cloud-based tool WebAccess/DMP. This software facilitates centralized management, provisioning, and monitoring of multiple routers, simplifying network infrastructure scaling and maintenance, and centralizing VPN connections.

Front View

The front panel of the ICR-4200 features LED Indicators, WiFi connectors, two ETH 10/100/1000 connectors, and ANT antenna connectors. Below these are the RESET button, PWR connector, USB Host connector, and Serial port/I/O connector. The Advantech logo is prominently displayed.

The rear view shows a robust metal cooler and options for DIN Mounting.

The left side includes a Ground Clamp - Screw and Antennas connectors.

Wall Mount

The device dimensions for wall mount are approximately 43 mm (width) x 130 mm (depth) x 90 mm (height). The overall width including mounting brackets is 142.9 mm, and the height including connectors is 64 mm. The mounting holes are spaced 5.00 mm from the top edge. The front panel layout shows LEDs for WiFi, PWR, RST, ETH0, ETH1, USB, and SERIAL & I/O, along with connectors for ANT, GNSS, and DIV. The total length from the front to the back of the connectors is 153.9 mm.

DIN Holder

The device dimensions for DIN rail mounting are approximately 43 mm (width) x 130 mm (depth) x 99.6 mm (height). The overall width including the DIN clip is 130 mm. The front panel layout is identical to the wall mount version, showing LEDs for WiFi, PWR, RST, ETH0, ETH1, USB, and SERIAL & I/O, along with connectors for ANT, GNSS, and DIV.
