Operationalize Calix Revenue Edge: Repeated GigaSpire Turn-Ups with Calix Support Cloud
This workflow outlines the steps to turn up new GigaSpire devices using Calix Support Cloud (CSC). It assumes initial setup in CSC has been completed.
Initial Setup and Configuration
Start: Unbox and power up the GigaSpire gateway.
Decision: Use EWI (requires login to GigaSpire/EXOS EWI via Support user account) to set static ACS URL and SPID?
- Yes: Enter static URL and/or SPID.
- No:
- Decision: PPPoE?
- Yes: Configure PPPoE Settings.
- No:
- Preferred: DHCPv4 Option 43, or DHCPv6 Option 17.
- Enter the Registration ID.
Action: Connect GigaSpire's WAN Ethernet port to the upstream bridge (ONT or modem).
Outcome: GigaSpire obtains an IP for the WAN HSI interface (from DHCP server or BRAS) and gets the ACS URL via Option 43 (if DHCP and configured).
Action: GigaSpire checks into Calix Support Cloud.
Subscriber Data and Service Activation
Action: Download CommandIQ to a smartphone or tablet.
Action: Open CommandIQ app and create a user account.
Action: Onboard the GigaSpire to manage via the app.
Action: Add/Integrate Subscriber Data and activate services.
- Check: Are services configured through a different system?
- No:
- Enter general info.
- Data on/activated (default).
- (Video only) Video on/activated.
- Set custom Wi-Fi SSID & pass key.
Decision: Will Subscribers use CommandIQ app?
- Yes: Set custom Wi-Fi SSID and pass key.
- No: Proceed to next step.
Decision: Providing Edge Suites to Subscribers?
- Yes: Enable Edge Suite(s) for individual subscribers (routers).
- No: Proceed to next step.
Action: Pair Wi-Fi / mesh satellite(s) to GigaSpire.
Completion
Finish: The GigaSpire turn-up process is complete.
