Danfoss TP 7000 Programmable Room Thermostat
Product Overview
The TP 7000 is a programmable room thermostat that combines clock and thermostat functions in a sleek, user-friendly design. It allows users to set temperatures according to their lifestyle, offering flexibility for different periods of the day and week.
Key Features
- Programming Flexibility: Supports true 7-day programming or 5/2-day programming (weekdays and weekends), allowing different temperature settings for each day or group of days.
- Temperature Periods: Up to six programmable temperature periods per day, with an additional option for a holiday/off mode.
- Wired and Wireless Options: Available in wired versions or as a simple wireless RF (Radio Frequency) version.
- Installer-Set Features:
- Optimal Start Control: This intelligent feature uses the room's temperature to calculate the time required for the heating system to reach the desired temperature. This ensures the room is comfortably warm by the programmed time, optimizing energy usage.
- Time Proportional Control: This function determines the boiler's cycle and on/off times, contributing to user comfort and increasing boiler efficiency, particularly beneficial for condensing boilers.
- RF Model Functionality: The RF model includes a digital FM radio transmitter that sends a unique identification code. This code is recognized by one-, two-, or three-channel RX receivers, which can be located up to 30 meters away. These receivers are used to control boilers, pumps, or control valves.
- Power Options: Available in battery-powered or mains-powered versions, with either built-in or remote sensors.
- Additional Modes: Includes "Holiday" mode and thermostatic mode with frost protection.
Installer Settings (Microswitches)
Various settings can be configured via microswitches, depending on the model and desired functionality:

Sw4 (for TP7000C, CA, CM, CMA, C-RF & CA-RF models with 6/12 cycles per hour) | Time Proportional, 12 cycles/hour |
Time Proportional, 6 cycles/hour |
Note: Sw4 is only active if Sw3 is set to Time Proportional Control.
Installer Settings (Optimal Start Control)
When the microswitch SW2 is set to enable Optimal Start Control, specific settings must be configured in the user programming mode. The table below shows calculated start times based on the difference between the room temperature and the programmed temperature for the first daily event. Possible settings for the optimization period are 0:00 (OSC disabled), 0:30, 1:00, 1:30, or 2:00.
Desired Temp. for Event 1 | Temperature Difference Below Target for Optimal Start | |||
---|---|---|---|---|
-1°C | -2°C | -3°C | -4°C | |
Event 1 Start Time | 120 min. | 90 min. | 60 min. | 30 min. |
Possible Optimization Periods | (Example: With a -2°C difference and a 30-minute curve selected, the boiler will turn on 15 minutes before Event 1.) |

Wiring Diagrams
The following diagrams illustrate typical wiring configurations for the TP 7000 thermostats and their associated RX receivers.
TP7000/TP7000A with RX1 & RX2 Receivers
This setup involves a TP7000 or TP7000A thermostat connected to an RX1 (single-channel) or RX2 (dual-channel) receiver. Connections are shown for the main power (L, N), thermostat sensor (remote sensor terminal), remote start terminal, load connection, and the electronic unit. The diagrams indicate specific terminals for 'COM', 'ON', 'OFF', 'REMOTE START', 'REMOTE SENSOR', and 'LOAD', with specific terminals used for models with remote sensor ('A' models) and remote start ('B' models).
TP7000M/TP7000MA with RX1 & RX2 Receivers
Similar to the TP7000/TP7000A, this configuration uses TP7000M or TP7000MA thermostats with RX1 or RX2 receivers. The wiring principles for power, sensor, start, and load connections are consistent, with terminals labeled for 'COM', 'ON', 'OFF', 'REMOTE START', 'REMOTE SENSOR', and 'LOAD'.
TP7000-RF/TP7000A-RF with RX3 Receiver
This diagram shows the wireless RF models (TP7000-RF, TP7000A-RF) connected to an RX3 (three-channel) receiver. The wiring includes connections for the main power supply (230Vac L, N) to the receiver's electronics. The receiver has terminals for 'COM', 'ON', 'OFF', and 'REMOTE SENSOR'. The RX3 receiver is designed to control up to three zones (Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3), with specific terminals for each zone's load connection.
