- Place the wall bracket in the desired mounting position and align it straight. Mark the drill holes. Mount the go-e Charger directly below the CEE socket to minimize pressure on the supply line.
- Drill holes at the four marked positions.
- Attach the wall bracket with four screws and dowels each. Use spacers to compensate for any wall unevenness.
Important: The go-e Charger does not need to be opened during installation and should never be opened otherwise.
Optional: Attachment of the anti-theft device (U-piece).
4. Commissioning & Charging
Connection: Connect the go-e Charger Gemini flex directly to a red CEE socket or a suitable socket using an original go-e adapter.
Operation:
- The go-e Charger starts and performs a self-test.
- The go-e Charger is ready for operation.
- Five predefined charging levels can be selected via the button (customizable via the app).
- Connect the go-e Charger and the vehicle via a Type 2 charging cable. The charger is ready for charging and awaits release by the car.
- During the charging process, the LEDs rotate clockwise around the Type 2 socket.
- The charging process is completed when the LEDs light up green.
Note: The cable remains locked after charging is complete (adjustable via app). Charging can be cancelled prematurely.
5. App Usage
The go-e app is required for advanced features.
Connection via Hotspot:
- Deactivate mobile data and terminate active Wi-Fi connections.
- Scan the QR code of the reset card.
- Launch the go-e app.
- Select the Charger and operate locally.
Connection via WLAN:
- An active hotspot connection is required.
- Open the app, go to the device list, and tap "Setup device".
- Select "Set up new device" and follow the app's instructions.
- Set the password for the Wi-Fi network.
- Set the password for remote access.
- Disconnect the hotspot connection to the Charger and establish a smartphone internet connection to control the Charger remotely via mobile data or Wi-Fi.
6. Safety Regulations & Information
General Safety:
- Use the go-e Charger only for charging battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV) with appropriate adapters and cables.
- Disregarding safety regulations can have serious consequences. go-e GmbH is not liable for damages resulting from misuse.
- High Voltage - Danger to Life! Never use the charger if the housing is damaged or open.
- In case of unusual heat, do not touch the charger, cable, or adapter; stop charging immediately. Contact customer support if plastic discolors or deforms.
- Never cover the charger during charging; heat buildup can cause fire.
- Individuals with electronic implants should maintain a distance of at least 60 cm due to electromagnetic fields.
- The go-e Charger Gemini flex (2.0) is not approved for use in Norway due to legal regulations.
- The charger has communication interfaces: WLAN (2.4GHz), LTE*, GPRS*, EDGE*, RFID.
Electrical Safety, Installation, Operation:
- Electrical installation information is for qualified electricians only.
- De-energize circuits before electrical work.
- Installation must comply with local, regional, and national regulations.
- Observe permissible ambient conditions from the data sheet.
- A location without direct sunlight is recommended.
- The charger is suitable for charging gassing vehicle batteries only in well-ventilated rooms.
- Do not operate indoors if there is an increased risk of ammonia gases.
- Do not operate near flammable/explosive substances, running water, or heat-emitting equipment.
- Mount the charger vertically on a flat wall.
- Ensure the power connection is properly installed and undamaged.
- The charger has an integrated DC protection module. An RCD Type A and a miniature circuit breaker must be installed on the building side.
- Use only fully functional sockets and protective devices. Connection cables must be sufficiently dimensioned.
- Electric shock can be fatal! Do not reach into sockets or plug systems with hands or tools.
- The charger has a "Ground Check" safety function that prevents charging in TT/TN grids if the power connection is not grounded. This function is active by default and can be deactivated via the app only if you are certain the grid has no earth connection (IT grid). A deactivated "Ground Check" is indicated by 4 red LEDs (3, 6, 9, 12 o'clock).
Connection, Plug, Adapter:
- Observe the maximum permissible charging current of the connection. If unknown, use the lowest setting.
- Fire Hazard! For household sockets, a maximum charging current of 10 A is recommended due to continuous operation limitations. National regulations may require lower currents. Single-phase adapters are factory-limited to 6 A. Check country settings in the app before using single-phase adapters (CEE blue, Schuko plug). Reduce charging current if a household socket overheats.
- Ensure mechanical relief of the plug by supporting the weight of the charger and cable.
- Do not use the charger if any attached cable is damaged.
- Never use wet or dirty plugs.
- Never pull plugs out by the cable.
