General Precautions for Installers
⚠️ Important safety instructions. Follow all of these instructions. Improper installation can cause serious bodily harm.
Before continuing, also read the general precautions for users. Use this product only for its specifically intended use. Any other use is hazardous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage caused by improper, unreasonable, and erroneous use.
This product is defined by the Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE as partly-completed machinery. It is intended to be incorporated or assembled into other machinery to build a complete system regulated by the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. The final installation must comply with this directive and current European reference standards.
The manufacturer declines liability for using non-original products, which would void the warranty. All operations must be carried out exclusively by skilled and qualified personnel in full compliance with current regulations.
Laying of cables, installation, and testing must follow state-of-the-art procedures as dictated by applicable standards and laws.
Ensure the mains power supply is disconnected during all installation procedures. Check that temperature ranges match the location. Add suitable reinforcements to anchoring points if necessary.
Ensure the operator is protected from direct water jets (sprinklers, water cleaners). Install a suitable dual-pole cut-off device compliant with installation rules, capable of completely cutting off the power supply according to category III surcharge conditions.
Demarcate the site to prevent unauthorized personnel, especially children and minors, from entering. For manual handling, ensure one person per 20 kg. Use proper hoisting equipment for non-manual handling.
Use suitable protections to prevent mechanical hazards from people within the operator's operating range. Electric cables must pass through special pipes, ducts, and cable glands for adequate protection against mechanical damage. Ensure electrical cables do not touch parts that may overheat during use.
Before installation, check that the guided part (gate) is in good mechanical condition and operates correctly. The product cannot automate guided parts that include a pedestrian gate unless the pedestrian gate can be enabled only when secured.
Ensure people cannot be entrapped between the guided and fixed parts when the gate is in motion. All fixed controls must be clearly visible after installation, positioned to allow direct visibility of the gate but far from moving parts. Maintained action commands must be installed at a minimum height of 1.5 m from the ground and not be accessible to the public.
If not already present, apply a permanent tag describing how to use the manual release mechanism close to the mechanism. Ensure the operator is properly adjusted and that safety devices and the manual release are working correctly.
Before handover to the final user, verify the system complies with harmonized standards and essential requisites of Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE. Indicate any residual risks clearly with proper signage in visible areas and explain them to end users. Fit the machine's ID plate in plain sight upon completion of the installation.
Danger Information
If the power-supply cable is damaged, it must be immediately replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized technical assistance center, or qualified staff to prevent any risk. Keep this manual inside the technical folder along with manuals of all other devices used for your automation system. Hand over all operating manuals of the products that make up the final machinery to the end users.
Main Points of Danger for People
The following diagram illustrates key danger zones:
- ? Do not transit through during maneuvering.
