Important Safety Instructions

When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be observed, including the following:

- Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Do not use with damaged cord or attachments.
- Do not turn your appliance ON until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.
- Do not put anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes, on or near the appliance.

- Do not use appliance in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil-based paint, paint thinner, some moth-proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
- Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not put any object into openings.
- Do not use with any opening blocked; keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts of the appliance.
- Turn OFF all controls before plugging in or unplugging appliance.
- Close plastic film can be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep away from children.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy.
- Plastic tanks are not dishwasher safe. Do not put tanks in dishwasher.
- Do not carry the machine while in use.
- Keep appliance on a level surface.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS: This appliance must be connected to a grounded wiring system. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current, reducing the risk of electrical shock. The cord for this appliance has an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug that fits the grounding contact of the proper outlet. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG. If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

Filling the Clean Water Tank
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock due to internal component damage, use only BISSELL cleaning formula intended for use with this machine.

For optimal performance, use genuine BISSELL® formulas in your machine. Other formulas or household cleaners may cause defects or damage to the machine.
Compatible BISSELL formulas include: PET PRO OXY Spot & Stain, PRO OXY Spot & Stain, Little Green® OXY Spot & Stain, Simply Spot & Stain.
Steps:
- Choose your formula.* Visit BISSELL.ca for formulas.
- Remove clean water tank from machine by lifting carry handle.
- Flip cap open.
- Add warm water (140°F/60°C max) to water fill line based on size of your mess. (Small Area: 28 oz, Large Area: 56 oz)
- Add formula* to line based on size of your mess. (Small Area: 4 oz, Large Area: 8 oz)
- Close cap. Return clean tank to machine and click back into place.

Using Your Machine
Before You Clean
- Vacuum to remove loose dirt from areas to be cleaned.
- Spray any BISSELL® stain pretreat formula on soiled areas and allow to sit for a few minutes.
- Tip: For upholstery, work in small sections until area is clean.
Steps:
- Release hose by pulling away from hose clip. ➡️ Attach desired tool to hose until it clicks.
- Twist Quick Release Cord Wrap to remove cord. Plug cord into outlet.
- Turn machine ON. ➡️ Press and hold trigger over sink or bowl to prime the machine until liquid sprays out.
- While holding tool above desired area, press and hold trigger to spray solution. ➡️ Gently scrub stain using bristles.
- With trigger released, press tool firmly against surface and pull towards you to remove stain. Repeat as needed.
- Turn machine OFF.
Cleaning with the Self-Cleaning Tough Stain Tool
This tool helps clean itself and the machine.
- Turn machine ON. Slide tool lever down for CLEANOUT mode.
- Press the trigger to activate the CLEANOUT function. Solution mixture will spray through the tool and hose. Tip: For a more thorough rinse, place suction nozzle on soft surface and tilt forward/ backward.
- To continue cleaning with your machine, slide the tool's lever upward to return to SPRAY mode.
Cleaning with the Spraying Crevice Tool (select models)
- While holding tool above the stained area, press and hold the trigger to spray solution.
- Release spray trigger and press tool firmly against surface and pull toward you to remove the stain. Repeat this step as needed.
Emptying the Dirty Water Tank
Important: Do not let water overfill.
- Empty dirty water tank when water reaches "MAX" line.
- Remove dirty water tank and carry to a water disposal area.
- To remove lid, hold bottom of dirty water tank and use handle inset to lift up and off.
- Pour out dirty water. Rinse tank to remove any debris.
- Align lid with bottom of tank and press down until secure.
- Place dirty water tank back onto machine.
After-Cleaning Care
- Be sure to empty dirty water tank after use (see above).
- To disconnect tools, push down on button above hose grip and pull straight off. (Do NOT twist tool to remove it.)
- Remove tool lens.
- Rinse lens under clean, running water. Allow to dry before reinstalling.
- When finished using the machine, wrap cord around cord wrap for storage. Store indoors in a dry location in an area where it is not likely to get damaged.
