Mounting Recommendations with a Standard Cable
Connecting Wires
- Fasten wires to non-moving parts, avoiding heat sources.
- Ensure connections are not easily visible. Reapply factory isolation if removed.
- Apply additional isolation for wires exposed to exterior elements (heat, humidity, dirt).
- Do not connect wires to board computers or control units.
Connecting Power Source
- Verify power availability after the car computer enters sleep mode (typically 5-30 minutes).
- Measure voltage after connecting the module to ensure no decrease.
- Connect to the main power cable in the fuse box.
- Use a 3A, 125V external fuse.
Connecting Ignition Wire
- Ensure it's a real ignition wire (power remains after engine start).
- Avoid ACC wires (where electronics are active with the key in the first position).
- Check power availability when other vehicle devices are turned off.
- Connect to the ignition relay output or an alternative relay with ignition-controlled power.
Connecting Ground Wire
- Connect the ground wire to the vehicle frame or metal parts.
- If using a bolt, connect the loop to the end of the wire.
- Scrub paint from the connection point for better contact.

Safety Information
This section provides crucial information for operating the FMC234 safely. Failure to follow these recommendations may lead to dangerous situations.
- General Precautions: Do not disassemble the device. If damaged, avoid touching it until the power supply is unplugged. Wireless data transfer may cause interference with nearby devices. Only qualified personnel should connect the device. Ensure the device is firmly fastened. Programming should be done with a PC and autonomic power supply. Installation during lightning storms is prohibited. The device is susceptible to water and humidity.
- Power Source: The device uses a SELV limited power source with a nominal voltage of +12 V DC and an allowed range of +10...+30 V DC.
- Handling and Transport: Transport the device in an impact-proof package to avoid mechanical damage. Ensure LED indicators are visible for status checks.
- Connections: Disconnect vehicle power supply jumpers before connecting the 2x6 connector wires. Disconnect the 2x6 connector before unmounting the device. The device should be mounted in a zone of limited access. All related devices must meet EN 62368-1 standard.
- Usage: The FMC234 is not designed as a navigational device for boats.
- Battery Disposal: Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to instructions. Do not dispose of batteries with general household waste; take them to a recycling center or designated bin.
Certification and Approvals
- User Manual: Read the User's Manual before use. The full version is available on the Teltonika Wiki.
- CE Marking: Indicates conformity with European Directive 2014/53/EU (RED).
- RoHS: Regulates the manufacture, import, and distribution of Electronics and Electrical Equipment (EEE), banning 10 hazardous materials.
- IP Rating: Provides detailed information on water and dust resistance.
- E25 Marking: European conformity mark for the transport sector, indicating compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- REACH: Addresses the production and use of chemical substances and their impact on health and the environment.
- Bluetooth®: Word mark and logos are registered trademarks of Bluetooth SIG, Inc., used under license by UAB Teltonika Telematics.
Declaration of IMEI Assignment
The IMEI number identifies devices on a GSM network and can be used to blacklist stolen phones. If a phone is stolen, the owner can instruct their network provider to blacklist it using the IMEI number, rendering it useless on that network.
Check All Certificates
The latest certificates can be found on the Teltonika Wiki.
