Quick SMS Configuration
Optimize performance and data usage by sending the following SMS command:
setparam 2001:APN;2002:APN_username;2003:APN_password;2004:Domain;2005:Port;2006:0
GPRS SETTINGS:
- 2001 – APN
- 2002 – APN username (leave empty if none)
- 2003 – APN password (leave empty if none)
SERVER SETTINGS:
- 2004 – Domain
- 2005 – Port
- 2006 – Data sending protocol (0 – TCP, 1 – UDP)
Note: Insert two space symbols before the SMS text.
Default Configuration Settings
Movement and Ignition Detection:
- Vehicle movement is detected by the accelerometer.
- Ignition is detected by vehicle power voltage between 13.2 – 30 V.
Device Makes a Record on Moving if One of These Events Happen:
- 300 seconds passes.
- Vehicle turns 10 degrees.
- Vehicle drives 100 meters.
- Speed difference between last coordinate and current position is greater than 10 km/h.
Device Makes a Record on Stop if:
- 1 hour passes while the vehicle is stationary and ignition is off.
- If the device has made a record, it is sent to the server every 120 seconds.
After SMS configuration, the FMC920 synchronizes time and updates records. Time intervals and I/O elements can be changed via Teltonika Configurator or SMS parameters.
Mounting Recommendations
Connecting Wires
- Fasten wires to other non-moving parts, avoiding heat-emitting objects.
- Ensure connections are not easily visible. Reapply factory isolation if removed.
- Apply additional isolation for wires in exterior or exposed locations.
- Do not connect wires to board computers or control units.
Connecting Power Source
- Verify power availability after the car computer sleeps (5-30 minutes).
- Measure voltage after connection to ensure it hasn't decreased.
- Connect to the main power cable in the fuse box.
- Use a 3A, 125V external fuse.
Connecting Ignition Wire
- Ensure it's a real ignition wire (power doesn't disappear after starting the engine).
- Check it's not an ACC wire (power available in the first key position).
- Verify power availability when turning off vehicle devices.
- Connect to the ignition relay output or any other relay with power output when ignition is on.
Connecting Ground Wire
- Connect the ground wire to the vehicle frame or metal parts fixed to the frame.
- If using a bolt, connect the loop to the end of the wire.
- Scrub paint from the connection spot for better contact.
