Lithium Battery Safety Precautions
Due to the high energy density (up to 150Wh/kg), the cells are not harmless and require special care. JAMARA expressly disclaims any liability for damages resulting from improper handling of Lithium-Polymer cells.
- Improper use of the battery poses a risk of fire or chemical burns.
- Overcharging, excessive current, or deep discharging destroys the cell.
- Protect from mechanical stress (squeezing, pressing, bending, drilling).
- Never open or cut batteries, do not throw them into fire, and keep them away from children.
- Handle damaged or leaking batteries with extreme caution. Injuries or damage to the device may occur.
- Never short-circuit batteries and always pay attention to correct polarity.
- Protect batteries from heat above 65°C; mount them away from hot parts (e.g., exhaust).
- Before storage (e.g., in winter), charge the batteries. Do not store them in a discharged or fully charged state! For longer storage, check the charge level periodically.
- The cell contents are harmful to skin and eyes.
- In case of skin contact, rinse with plenty of water and remove contaminated clothing.
- In case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor.
- If a cell overheats, swells, smokes, or burns, do not touch it under any circumstances. Maintain a safe distance and prepare suitable extinguishing agents (no water - explosion hazard; use dry sand, fire extinguishers, fire blankets, salt water).
Disposal Information
Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of in household waste but must be disposed of separately. You are obliged to return used batteries to appropriate disposal facilities (separate collection). After use, batteries can be returned free of charge to the retailer. As batteries contain substances that can be irritating, cause allergies, or are highly reactive, separate collection and proper recycling are important for the environment and your health. If batteries are marked with a chemical symbol Hg, Cd, or Pb below the crossed-out waste bin on wheels, it indicates they contain more than 0.0005% mercury (Hg), more than 0.002% cadmium (Cd), or more than 0.004% lead (Pb).
Electrical appliances must not be disposed of in household waste but must be disposed of separately. You are obliged to remove batteries if possible and hand over the old electrical equipment to communal collection points. If personal data is stored on the electrical equipment, you must remove it yourself.
