Installation Steps
Step 1: Turn Off The Power! Turn off power at the source to the recessed housing(s) that you are installing the fixture(s) in.
Step 2: Remove Existing Trim and Bulb Remove existing trim and bulb, revealing the housing and the existing socket inside.
Step 3: Determine the Mounting Method
The Recessed Downlight is designed to install in most 6 in. and 5 in. recessed housing. Use either the torsion spring or flip clip.
- Housing with torsion bracket: Use the manufacturer-installed torsion springs for installation.
- Housing without torsion bracket: Check that the "flip clips" are firmly attached. Center the fixture in the housing opening and gently push up until flush with the ceiling.
Step 4: Installing the Base
- If it's a medium base screw socket inside the housing, screw the E26 base into the existing socket first and then insert the connector into the E26 base.
- If it's a connector inside the housing, mate the connector with the terminal on the fixture directly.
Step 5: Finish Installation
- Housing with torsion spring: Check that the "torsion springs" are firmly attached. Compress the torsion springs and insert into the bracket inside the housing. Release springs and gently push up until flush with the ceiling.
- Housing without torsion bracket: Replace the torsion springs with the flip clips included in the packaging using a screwdriver.
