There are three steps to the setup process.
- Installing batteries in the remote control unit
- Connecting the receiver
- Following the On-Screen Setup Assistant
1 Installing batteries in the remote control unit
A diagram shows how to insert R03/AAA batteries into the remote control unit.
2 Connecting the receiver
2.1) Place the receiver near your TV and connect the power cord.
A diagram illustrates connecting the receiver to a TV and then to a household power outlet (AC 230 V, 50/60 Hz) using the supplied power cord.
2.2) Connect to the network.
Wired LAN
When connecting cables (wired connection), connect a LAN cable between your receiver and your network router. A diagram shows the connection from the Internet modem to the router, and then to the receiver's LAN port.
Wireless LAN
When using a wireless connection (Wi-Fi), rotate the antennas upward. A diagram shows the Internet modem connected to the router with access point, and the antennas rotated upwards.
2.3) Connect the receiver to your TV with an HDMI cable.
A diagram shows an HDMI cable connecting the HDMI OUT MONITOR (ARC) port on the receiver to the HDMI IN (ARC) port on the TV.
ARC (Audio Return Channel): If your TV supports ARC, your TV can send audio back to the AV receiver when you are using your TV's built-in video sources (TV tuner, Smart TV streaming services, etc.). ARC requires that you enable HDMI CEC on your TV. Please refer to your TV's Owner's Manual for instructions on how to setup HDMI CEC. Note that some TV manufacturers use other names for the HDMI CEC function.
2.4) Turn on the TV.
A diagram shows a finger pressing the power button on a TV remote control.
2.5) Select the appropriate HDMI input on your TV.
A diagram shows a TV screen with options to select INPUT or TV/VIDEO, with a finger pointing to the selection on a remote control.
2.6) Turn on the receiver.
A diagram shows a finger pressing the power button on the receiver.
2.7) Verify the connection.
