Smart Solutions for a Better Everyday Life

IKEA is committed to providing practical and smart home solutions. With IKEA Home smart, you can leverage new technologies to manage tasks you would normally do manually, such as turning lights on/off, raising/lowering blinds, or controlling music. These solutions are designed to enhance your daily life, making it more sustainable, simple, and intelligent.

Imagine waking up to a calm and comfortable morning. Automated dimming lights and raised blinds can greet the sunrise while your favorite music plays, all without leaving your bed. The IKEA Home smart ecosystem makes this a seamless reality.

First Steps

You can choose to implement a complete smart home solution or start with a few simple steps. Our connected ecosystem is designed for all occasions and moods, offering full smart home capabilities. Alternatively, you can begin by controlling individual products.

Ecosystem Setup

Start with the TRÅDFRI gateway and the IKEA Home Smart app to create a connected system for controlling lighting, sound, and other home products. The gateway and app are essential tools for building your smart home ecosystem, allowing intuitive control over your devices. You can connect up to 50 devices to a single gateway.

Individual Products

If you prefer a simpler setup without full internet connectivity, you can opt for the TRÅDFRI remote control and smart lighting. The remote allows you to turn lights on/off, dim them, and change their color temperature for up to 10 lights simultaneously.

Ideal Atmosphere at Any Time

IKEA Home smart aims to make home life easier and more comfortable, from your morning wake-up to your evening relaxation. You can customize features, expand your system's reach, and create the perfect atmosphere for any moment of the day. This is the true smart home!

Adapt Lighting for All Activities

Our homes are dynamic spaces, and lighting significantly impacts how we perceive them. The ability to adapt lighting for various activities—from cooking and chores to watching TV, enjoying quiet evenings, or hosting parties—is not only practical but also pleasant. You can adjust brightness and color, turn lights on/off, and switch between warm and cool white light.

The Right Mode at the Right Time

Using the modes within the IKEA Home smart app, you can group different actions across multiple devices. For example, warm lighting, lowered blinds, and calming music for an evening, or brighter lighting and an energizing playlist for a workout. You can also assign your favorite modes to a shortcut button for physical control.

Enjoy Daylight and Privacy

Waking up to natural daylight is both pleasant and healthy. In the evening, you might desire more privacy to avoid prying eyes. Schedule your blinds to lower and raise at specific times, or control them remotely from your bed.

Listen to Music, Stories, and Conversations

Music sets the mood for everything from quiet mornings to parties. Podcasts and audiobooks offer new perspectives and entertainment. Fill your entire home with sound, or have different audio playing in each room, all with the press of a button.

Electric Blinds Technology

IKEA Home smart products utilize Zigbee 3.0, a standard for wireless control that is reliable, energy-efficient, and easy to install. The products also support mesh networking, allowing them to share signals with each other and improve connection stability throughout your home.

Blinds Features and Setup

The blinds are equipped with rechargeable batteries, eliminating the need for a mains connection. They can be operated using the included remote control, the IKEA Home smart app (available for iOS or Android), or via the TRÅDFRI gateway (sold separately). Multiple blinds can be controlled with a single remote or the app. If the battery runs low, you can carefully lower the blind manually.

The Zigbee repeater is an essential component that helps the blinds function correctly by relaying signals between the blinds and the remote control, ensuring wireless functionality.

Package Contents: 1 remote control, 1 rechargeable battery, 1 battery charger, and 1 signal repeater.

Each blind comes pre-paired. To pair additional blinds, place the remote close to the battery cover on the blind, then press and hold the small button inside the remote (near the battery) for 10 seconds.

The remote control has an operating range of 10 meters. By using the TRÅDFRI gateway and the IKEA Home smart app, you can control the blinds from anywhere with an internet connection.

Set Modes According to Your Needs

Planning a movie night or a special birthday celebration? Or perhaps a candlelit dinner? You don't have to manage everything yourself – let your smart home assist! The IKEA Home smart app allows you to program how your blinds and lighting function. When it's time to enjoy your moments, simply issue a command, and the magic happens!

Benefits of the Solution:

  • Freely programmable roller blinds.
  • Activate modes with a single button press or voice command.

You can also adjust blinds based on the time of day or outside conditions. Even if you forget to lower them, your smart home will take care of it.

Benefits of the Solution:

  • Program blinds based on the time of day.
  • Program blinds based on outside conditions.
  • Option for separate programming when you are away from home or on vacation.
