Leica DISTO with Apple Hardware
This section outlines the compatibility of Leica DISTO devices with Apple hardware.
If your Apple device is an iPhone 3 or 4, iPad Gen 1 or 2, or a MAC Computer:
No DISTO connection is possible with these devices.
If your Apple device is an iPhone 4S & newer, iPad 3-4 with Retina, or iPad Air/mini:
These devices support Bluetooth Smart Ready version 4.0, which is also found in newer style DISTO units.
Compatibility based on DISTO Model:
- DISTO D330i: Connection is possible through DISTO Sketch or 3rd Party Applications Only.
- DISTO D810, E7500i, E7100i: Connection is possible through DISTO Sketch or 3rd Party Applications. These models can send measured values to the cursor position in an open program by emulating a keyboard input (text or number mode).
Leica DISTO with Android Based Hardware
This section details the compatibility of Leica DISTO devices with Android-based hardware.
Check your Android Operating System version:
If your Android Operating System is 4.3 and Higher:
This typically means your hardware is Bluetooth Smart Ready Compatible and has a BT 4.0 Chip.
For DISTO Models (D810, E7500i, E7100i, D330i) with Android 4.3+ OS:
- Bluetooth 2.1 & Smart 4.0 Connection is Possible.
- Available Software includes:
- Leica DISTO Transfer BT LE for Android 4.3+
- DISTO Sketch in the Google Store
- Assorted 3rd Party Apps
If your Android Operating System is below 4.3 (or not 4.3 and Higher):
For DISTO Models (D330i, E7100i, D810, E7500i) with older Android OS:
- Bluetooth 2.1 Connection is Possible.
- Available Software includes:
- Leica DISTO Transfer for Android
- DISTO Sketch in the Google Store
- Assorted 3rd Party Apps

Leica DISTO with MS Windows Operating System
This section covers the compatibility of Leica DISTO devices with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Scenario 1: Windows 8.1 and Newer Operating System (Win RT Tablets are NOT SUPPORTED)
- If your computer was NOT updated from Windows XP/7 to Win 8.1:
- Your DISTO Model (D810, E7500i, E7100i, D330i) supports Bluetooth 2.0 & Smart Ready 4.0 Connection.
- Software options include:
- DISTO Transfer Version 4.0: This software sends measured values from the DISTO to the cursor position in open programs such as Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
- Assorted 3rd Party Programs.
- If your computer WAS updated from Windows XP/7 to Win 8.1:
- Bluetooth 2.1 Support is available only. Refer to the Windows XP/7 OS path for details.
Scenario 2: Windows XP, 7, or 8.0 Operating System
- If your DISTO Model is D330i or E7100i:
- Bluetooth 2.1 Connection is Possible.
- Software options include:
- DISTO Transfer Version 4.0
- Assorted 3rd Party Programs.
- If your DISTO Model is D810 or E7500i:
- No DISTO Connection is Possible.
Note: BT Smart Ready is typically found only on newer laptops, tablets, and Windows Surface product lines. USB 4.0 adapters will not fully update a Win 7 system.
