Diagram Description: A schematic of a watch face showing the positions of the main hands (hour, minute, second), the date window, and the chronograph sub-dials (seconds, minutes, 1/10 seconds, hours). It also indicates the location of the Crown, Push-button A, and Push-button B.
Chronograph Functions
Chronograph: Basic Function (Start / Stop / Reset)
This function is used for standard timekeeping with the chronograph.

- Second Stop: Press [Button A] again to stop the accumulated timing. Example: 5 minutes, 12 seconds after the restart. The total accumulated time is shown (e.g., 20 minutes, 17 seconds).
- Reset: Press [Button B] to return all chronograph hands to their zero positions.
Note: After stopping (Stop), the accumulation can be continued by repeatedly pressing [Button A] (Restart / Stop, Restart / Stop, ...).

Note: After displaying an interval (by pressing B), further intervals or intermediate times can be displayed by repeatedly pressing [Button B] (display interval / make up measured time, ...).
Diagram Description: A sequence of diagrams showing the process of interval timing. It illustrates starting, pressing B to show an interval, pressing B again to catch up to the main time, and finally stopping the main time.
Setting the Time
Follow these steps to set the correct time:
- Pull out the Crown to position III. The watch movement stops to prevent accidental changes.
- Turn the Crown until the correct time is displayed (e.g., 8:45).
- Push the Crown back into position I.
Note: To set the time to the exact second, pull out the Crown to position III when the second hand is at the 60-second mark. Push the Crown back into position I precisely when the desired second is reached.
Diagram Description: A diagram showing the watch face with the Crown pulled out to position III. An arrow indicates turning the Crown to set the time. Another diagram shows the Crown being pushed back to position I.
Setting the Date (Quick Mode)
This mode allows for quick adjustment of the date.
- Pull out the Crown to position II. The watch continues to run.
- Turn the Crown anticlockwise until the correct date (e.g., 01) appears in the date window.
- Push the Crown back into position I.
Important Note: Avoid setting the date between approximately 8 PM and 12 AM, as this can cause the date to change incorrectly. If this occurs, set the date to the next day and then advance it from 01 to 31 to re-synchronize. An extreme acceleration in setting the date with quick mode can induce a false date indication. The synchronization is re-established by setting the date from 01 till 31 (Crown in position II).
Diagram Description: A diagram showing the watch face with the Crown pulled out to position II. An arrow indicates turning the Crown anticlockwise to change the date. Another diagram shows the Crown being pushed back to position I.
Setting the Date, Day of the Week (8040.N), and Time
This procedure is for setting all date, day, and time functions simultaneously.
Example:
- Current watch setting: 17th day / 01:25 / Monday
- Desired setting: 23rd day / 20:35 / Saturday
- Pull out the Crown to position III. The watch stops.
- Turn the Crown until yesterday's day of the week (e.g., Friday) is displayed.
- Push the Crown to position II.
- Turn the Crown anticlockwise until yesterday's date (e.g., 22) is displayed.
- Pull out the Crown again to position III. The watch stops.
- Turn the Crown until the correct date (e.g., 23) and day of the week (e.g., Saturday) are displayed.
- Continue turning the Crown until the correct time (e.g., 8:35 PM) is displayed. Observe AM/PM.
- Push the Crown back into position I.
Notes:
- For precise second setting, refer to the "Setting the Time" section.
- Ensure correct AM/PM indication when setting the time.
Diagram Description: A series of diagrams illustrating the steps. It shows pulling the crown to position III, turning it to set the day, pushing to position II, turning to set the date, pulling again to position III, turning to set the correct date and day, and finally turning to set the time before pushing the crown back to position I.
Adjusting the Chronograph Hands to Zero Position
This procedure is necessary if chronograph hands are not correctly aligned at their zero positions, for example, after a battery change.
- Pull out the Crown to position III. All chronograph hands should be in their zero or current positions.
- Keep [Button A] and [Button B] depressed simultaneously for at least 2 seconds. The second counter hand will rotate 360°, indicating that the corrective mode is activated.
Adjusting the Second Counter Hand:
- Single step: Press [Button A] once briefly.
- Continuous: Press and hold [Button A].
- After adjustment, press [Button B] to move to the next hand.
Adjusting the 1/10 Second Counter Hand (at 3 o'clock position):
- Single step: Press [Button A] once briefly.
- Continuous: Press and hold [Button A].
- After adjustment, press [Button B] to move to the next hand.
Adjusting the Minute Counter Hand (at 9 o'clock position):
- Single step: Press [Button A] once briefly.
- Continuous: Press and hold [Button A].
- After adjustment, press [Button B] to move to the next hand.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows the watch face with the crown pulled out. It illustrates pressing buttons A and B simultaneously. Subsequent diagrams show how pressing button A (briefly or continuously) adjusts the second counter, 1/10 second counter, and minute counter hands, and how pressing button B moves to the next hand for adjustment.
Final Step:
- Return the Crown to position I. This terminates the chronograph hands adjustment process. The adjustments can be performed at any time.
