iRig BlueTurn Bluetooth Page Turner
This document is the user manual for the iRig BlueTurn, a Bluetooth page turner designed by IK Multimedia.
Safety Information
- To reduce the risk of internal damage or malfunction, do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or excessive humidity. Avoid spilling liquids on the unit.
- If you do not plan to use the unit for an extended period, remove the batteries.
- Never expose the unit to temperatures higher than 60°C (140°F).
- Do not step on or step over the unit, as this may cause permanent damage to the iRig BlueTurn structure and foot switches.
- The iRig BlueTurn has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open the unit.
- All servicing should be referred to qualified personnel only.
- The iRig BlueTurn communicates via Bluetooth. Avoid placing it in metallic cases or structures that could shield the Bluetooth signal.
- Caution: Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type. Use only consumer-grade, non-rechargeable CARBON-ZINC or ALKALINE batteries.

The iRig BlueTurn is a Bluetooth controller pedalboard with two foot switches for scrolling through lyrics, guitar tabs, and sheet music from compatible Apps. It is ideal for Mac, iOS, and Android devices equipped with Bluetooth Low Energy. It facilitates effortless scrolling and is also useful for teleprompting, slide presentations, instrument effects, and media control.

Installation and Setup
- Install two AAA batteries into the iRig BlueTurn's battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -). The iRig BlueTurn utilizes Bluetooth LE technology for low power consumption and long battery life.
- Power ON the iRig BlueTurn by pressing and holding one of the foot switches while flipping the ON switch. Refer to the "iRig BlueTurn modes" section for the complete startup procedure.
- When the selected mode is loaded, the iRig BlueTurn's Bluetooth LED will start to blink.
- Pair the iRig BlueTurn with your device by following your device's Bluetooth pairing procedure. The Bluetooth LED will remain lit once paired.
- Download and launch the app. You can find the iKlip Stage app at ikdownloads.com/irigblueturn.
Note: The iRig BlueTurn is discoverable for 30 seconds at startup after a mode has been selected. If no device connects within this time, it will hide and must be turned off and on again.
iRig BlueTurn Modes
The iRig BlueTurn offers three preset modes, each sending different control messages. The following describes how to select and use each mode:
Mode 1
- Turn the unit on by holding a foot switch and flipping the ON switch. The unit's LEDs will blink.
- Pressing the "left" foot switch boots the iRig BlueTurn in Mode 1, which is the most common mode for iOS and Android apps.
- Pair with your device following the Bluetooth pairing procedure.
- Left foot-switch: UP Arrow
- Right foot-switch: DOWN Arrow
Mode 2
- Turn the unit on by holding a foot switch and flipping the ON switch. The unit's LEDs will blink.
- Pressing the "right" foot switch boots the iRig BlueTurn in Mode 2, primarily for MAC document applications like MS Word, Powerpoint, and Acrobat.
- Pair with your device following the Bluetooth pairing procedure.
- Left foot-switch: Page UP
- Right foot-switch: Page DOWN
Mode 3
- Turn the unit on by holding a foot switch and flipping the ON switch. The unit's LEDs will blink.
- Pressing both foot switches boots the iRig BlueTurn in Mode 3.
- Pair with your device following the Bluetooth pairing procedure.
- Left foot-switch: LEFT Arrow
- Right foot-switch: RIGHT Arrow
Virtual Keyboard in iOS
To toggle the virtual keyboard on/off in iOS, place the cursor in a text box and press and hold the left foot-switch ("up arrow") for at least 3 seconds.
Startup Notes
- Powering up the iRig BlueTurn without holding any switch boots it in the last used mode, indicated by the LEDs.
- Holding a switch during power-on enters mode selection. LEDs will flash until a mode is selected, and pairing is not possible during this time.
- Modes have pre-assigned HID messages that cannot be edited.
- Holding both foot switches during startup enters boot-loader mode, used for firmware updates.
- The iRig BlueTurn is discoverable for 30 seconds after startup (once a mode is selected). If no connection is made, it will hide and require a power cycle.
Foot Switch Backlighting
Once paired, the iRig BlueTurn's foot switches will illuminate, aiding operation in low-light conditions.
Status LED
The central LED indicates the iRig BlueTurn's status:
- OFF: Unit is off or batteries are depleted.
- Continuous flashing: Unit is ON and waiting for pairing. Enters sleep mode after 30 seconds if not paired. Reactivate by cycling the power switch.
- Continuous ON: Unit is ON and paired with the device.
- Mostly OFF with fast ON flashes: Low battery. Replace batteries soon.
Remember to turn OFF the iRig BlueTurn after use to conserve battery life.
Troubleshooting
iRig BlueTurn not turning ON
Check battery polarity and ensure batteries have sufficient charge.
Cannot connect iRig BlueTurn to app
Verify that the app supports HID message over external Bluetooth devices and that your device supports Bluetooth LE.
Cannot pair Bluetooth device
The iRig BlueTurn is discoverable for 30 seconds after startup (once a mode is selected). If pairing fails within this window, remove the iRig BlueTurn from your device's Bluetooth list and retry pairing.
