Model SDM-04

Turning On

Turning on the Power

  1. Hold down the POWER button on the product for at least one second to turn on the power.
  2. Push the locking lever on the gas monitor cover in the direction of the arrow to open the cover.
  3. Close the cover until it clicks in place.

Mounting the Gas Monitor

  1. Mount gas monitor with the LCD display facing up. Make sure that it engages with the retaining tab and is powered off.
  2. Turn on the power for the gas monitor.

Gas Monitor Connected

Communication starts when a gas monitor is mounted on the product and then turned on. Once communication is established, the gas name and calibration gas concentration set on the gas monitor are displayed on the LCD. NOTE: When communication is established, the gas monitor clock is automatically synchronized.

Bump Test

Bump Test

Ensure calibration gas cylinder is connected to a demand flow regulator and then to the left side of the cal station.

  1. Press the BUMP button to start the bump test.

Bump Gas Reading

During the bump test, the "BUMP" LED blinks orange, AIR FLUSH will display on the LCD followed by BUMP GAS1. An AIR PURGE is performed at the end of the bump test before the results are displayed.

Bump Results

Once bump test is complete, the LCD screen will alternate between the gas concentration and pass/fail status (shown as P or F on screen). The "BUMP" LED light on the SDM-04 will be green when a bump test passed. "BUMP" LED light is red if there is a failure. The 04 Series gas monitor will shut off automatically after bump test.

Removing Gas Monitor

  1. Release the tab on the red door.
  2. Remove the 04 Series gas monitor.

Calibration

Gas Adjustment

Note: Ensure calibration gas cylinder is connected to a demand flow regulator and then to the left side of the cal station.

  1. Press the CAL button to start gas adjustment for all gases. The current concentration is displayed while gas adjustment is in progress.

Gas Adjustment Readings

During the gas adjustment, the "CAL." LED blinks orange, AIR FLUSH will display on the LCD followed by CAL GAS1. An AIR PURGE is performed at the end of the cal adjustment before the results are displayed.

Gas Adjustment Results

Once gas adjustment is complete, the LCD screen will alternate between the gas concentration and pass/fail status (shown as P or F on screen). The "CAL." LED lights up green for a successful calibration. The "CAL." LED lights up red for a failed calibration. The 04 Series gas monitor will shut off automatically after gas adjustment.

Removing Gas Monitor

  1. Release the tab on the red door.
  2. Remove the 04 Series gas monitor.

Data Transfer

Transfer Data To USB Flash Drive

  1. Hold down the POWER button on the product for at least one second to turn on the power.
  2. Insert the USB flash drive (sold separately) into the USB port on the front of the product.
  3. Hold down the COPY button on the product until the COPY LED lights up red.

The bump test, gas adjustment, and alarm check data stored in the product is copied to the USB flash drive. Once copying is complete, the COPY LED returns to its previous state.
