Operating the GX-Force
Powering On
Press and hold the POWER MODE button to turn the device on. The device will initiate a warm-up and self-test sequence.
Normal Operation
After a brief warm-up period, the device enters Normal Operation mode. The LCD display will show real-time gas readings (e.g., CH4, CO, O2, H2S) and status indicators. Example display readings:
- CH4: 0 %LEL
- CO: 0 ppm
- O2: 20.9 %
- H2S: 0.0 ppm
Fresh Air Calibration Check
To ensure accurate readings, expose the device to fresh air. Press and hold the AIR button.
Bump Test / Calibration (Past Due)
If the device indicates "Past Due Bump/CAL", perform a bump test or calibration. To initiate Bump/CAL, press the POWER MODE button. Confirm the action and use the AIR button to proceed. The display will show status messages like "CAL BMP.LMT" or "CAL -- LMT".
Powering Off
Press and hold the POWER MODE button to turn the device off.
GX-Force Device Components
The GX-Force gas detector features the following components:
- Gas Inlet: Where air is drawn into the sensor.
- Filter Casing: Protects the internal filter.
- Alarm LEDs: Visual indicators for gas detection alarms.
- Flashlight: Integrated light source.
- LCD Display: Shows gas readings, status, and menu options.
- AIR Button: Used for fresh air checks and navigation.
- POWER MODE Button: Used for turning the device on/off and menu navigation.
- Buzzer Opening: Allows the audible alarm to be heard.
- Wrist Strap Holes: For attaching a wrist strap for secure carrying.
- Charging LED: Indicates the charging status of the device.
