DS18 SWLDC1.2 Combo Sound Control
USER MANUAL
DS18 TECHNOLOGIES
Presentation
The SWLDC1.2 combo steering wheel control allows users to manage the main functions of their audio player using two transmitters and one receiver. Transmitter (A) is a remote control with a range of 1200 meters in an open area. Transmitter (B) can be attached to the steering wheel of the car for safe sound control while driving.
Operation
Transmitter Unit
When any button is pressed, an RF (radio frequency) signal is transmitted to the receiving unit.
Receiving Unit
The "LED action" indicator lights up to show the presence of the received signal and transmits the code corresponding to the pressed key in IR (infrared). The receiver can operate with two transmitters by following steps 1 and 2 of "CODING THE CONTROL" for the new transmitter.

Notes Important
- The control unit will not function if the coding procedure is not performed.
- To avoid interference, install the receiver in a location where the antenna is near the panel and at least 50cm away from the car alarm receiver.

Coding the Control
LEARN MODE (Learn the functions of the original control)
Control A
- Press the "A" button in Receiving Unit (Indicator 1, Fig. 2), the action LED will be steadily on.
- Press the button of Control A (Indicator 2, Fig. 2) you wish to record until the "LED action" (indicator 3, Fig. 2) flashes.
- Point the original control of the player to the code IR input and press the key you want to record (Note 4, Fig. 2) until the action LED blinks rapidly, and then steadily on.
- Repeat step 2 and 3 for the other keys functions.
- After completing this process, press the "A" key (Indication 1, Fig. 2) on the receiver or wait 10 seconds to exit the mode.
Control B
- Press the "A" button in Receiving Unit (Indication 1, Fig. 2), the "led action" will be steadily on.
- Repeat step 2 and 3 by recording any of the keys recorded on control 1.
MEMORY MODE (The receiver has stored in its memory the codes of the main models of "player" (see the attached table)).
Control A
- Press the "M" key (Note 5, Fig. 2), the action LED will be steadily lit.
- Press the keys on control A (Indicator 2, Fig. 2) corresponding to the model of the player, according to the table. Example: If you want to program the SONY CD, you must perform step 1 and then press the keys sequentially, [power] [volume-up] [track-previous] [track-previous] on control A. Verify that the LED will blink 1 time and then 4 times, indicating that model 14 (Sony) has been programmed.
- After completing this process, press the "M" key (Indication 5, Figure 2) on the receiver or wait 10 seconds to exit the mode.
Control B

CONTROL INSTALLATION
- Select the Player model in the control memory (see MEMORY MODE) or learn the code using the original control of the player (see LEARN MODE). These steps are described in the topic CODING THE CONTROL.
- Position the control in the region where it will be installed (Fig. 03).
- Clean the whole region where the control will be installed, including the side of the transmitter, with alcohol until it is free of impurities. This procedure must be done carefully to ensure a perfect installation and operation of the control (Fig. 04).
- Remove the protective paper from the adhesive partially and stick the control in the previously chosen position (Fig. 05).
- Remove the protector from the velcro adhesive and attach the transmitter behind the steering wheel underneath it (Fig. 06).
- Loosen the Velcro, remove the remaining protective paper from the adhesive and reattach the Velcro (Fig. 07).
RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION
The diagram shows the recommended installation layout within a vehicle. The Infra-Red Transmitter is positioned on the steering wheel area, sending signals towards the Radio Player. The Receiver Unit is located in the rear of the vehicle, likely near the trunk or rear speakers, with its antenna positioned for optimal reception.
RECOMMENDATIONS AND OBSERVATIONS
- To avoid interference, install the receiver in a location where the antenna is near the panel and at least 50cm away from the car alarm receiver.
- For greater reach, the antenna should be kept taut and in place that is both visual and distant from the car bodywork.
- Supply the receiver unit with 12V.
