DocumentDocumentFi ngs guide for Autopilot on the Lake Reaper Bait Boat Unscrew all 13 screws around the outside lip of the Lake Reaper bait boat. There are 2 more screws either side of the rudder. You will be able to reach these with a longer screw driver. However, if you do not have a long screwdriver then you will need to remove the weed guard aswell by unscrewing the 6 smaller screws around the weed guard cage. Once all 15 screws are removed, you will now be able to split the top half from the bo om half of the boat. This does not break any seal. Once inside of the boat, You can unplug the 2 sets of wires which join the top and bo om hull together if needed (1 x white connector and 1 x smaller black connector) Installing the sonar for the fish finder (Fish Finder Version Only. Please skip to the next step if you do not have the fish finder version) Locate the small pilot hole in front of the motor on the base of the boat. You will need to drill a 14mm hole in the bo om hull for the fish finder sonar. Once drilled, from the outside of the hull thread the sonar wire through the drilled hole making sure the rubber grommet is on the outside of the boat. Now ghten the plas c wing nut from the inside of the boat on to the thread on the sonar. Now plug the silver plug into the back of the autopilot/fish finder receveiver unit into the transducer socket and use the thread/nut to ghten. The fish finder sonar with rubber grommet and wing nut boat The sonar once fi ed inside of the Where to plug the sonar into the back of the autopilot/fish finder receiver box Now locate the 2 moun ng posts either side of the motor Using the brackets and 2 x bolts and allen key provided, mount the large black autopilot receiver box to the 2 moun ng posts making sure the GPS module (Newstrong) is facing up, and the power and aerial socket facing the front of the boat. Once mounted to the posts you will now need to wire the autopilot receiver box to the boats receiver located at the front of the boat. You will have 5 x black/red/white cables with black connectors on the end. One end of these cables will have a single number, the other end will have a number and text. The number and text end will match to the sockets on the rear of the autopilot receiver. For example, Mode (0) plugs into Mode (0) on the autopilot receiver box. Please make sure the black wire on these cables in facing in the down/bo om posi on of the 3 pins (white at the top). (Please see page 25 of the instruc on manual for wiring diagram.) Once all 5 plugs are plugged into the back of the autopilot receiver box, you will then need to plug in the other end of the wires. 3 male plugs numbered 1, 4 and 8 will plug into 1, 4 and 8 of your Devict receiver. You will then have 2 female connectors le numbered 1 and 4. For these 2 female connectors, you will need to plug your ESC into number one and your steering servo into number 4. (Your ESC will already be plugged into your receiver, usually a black red and white wire. Your rudder servo will also be plugged into your receiver but is usually a brown, orange and red wire. There are usually 2 of these coloured wires, one for the rudder and one for the hopper. The steering servo wire will already be plugged into the lowest number on the receiver out of the two. We have included 3 x extension cables if needed. The wiring for the autopilot should to the receiver is now complete We have included a length of tubing for the 5 x cables to feed through and small cable es to neaten the wiring inside of the boat. Now using the provided aerial wire, screw the brass end onto the aerial socket on the autopilot (Pic 1 below). The opposite end of the aerial wire goes through the aerial hole on the top half of the hull for the external aerial to screw onto. There is 2 of these holes. You can use either of these and you may need to remove the rubber aerial bung (pic 2). Push the brass thread on the aerial wire through the hole and then screw the nut onto the thread to lock the aerial wire into posi on. Then screw on the black aerial provided (pic 3). Now plug in the main power plug into the power socket at the front of the autopilot. On the end of this cable will be 2 x white connectors, a male and a female. These plug into the 2 same white connectors which can be found inside the black square box at the front of the boat. This box has a square lid which unclips. Once unclipped you will see the ESC inside which is plugged into and white connector. Unplug this and connect the 2 connectors provided on the GPS power cable. Pictured below. Once plugged in, the red LED on the GPS box should light up when the boat is turned on. Installa on should now be complete. Please now follow the instruc on manual on how to use the Autopilot.
