Features & Benefits

Product Description

The Energysaver IVDC range, supplied by Roof Units, is engineered around a high-performance centrifugal impeller and a 48-volt EC/DC external rotor motor, delivering an efficient roof extract ventilation solution. The units are constructed from Plastisol coated prime quality galvanised sheet steel, providing a robust casing suitable for various environmental conditions, including coastal areas. The casing design, combined with the quiet EC/DC motor, ensures low sound levels.

Available in four sizes, the Energysaver IVDC offers air volumes from 0.09 m³/s to 0.97 m³/s (190 cfm to 2055 cfm) and pressure development up to 500 Pa (1.6 w.g.). Advanced computer modelling has resulted in one of the most compact vertical discharge roof extract fans. Each unit features an integral bellmouth to streamline airflow into the impeller, optimizing performance and minimizing energy consumption.

State Of The Art EC/DC Energysaver Control

The integrated electronics of the Energysaver IVDC provide advanced control functions:

All units include starting limitation, reverse polarity protection, phase-to-phase and phase-to-earth short circuit protection, and HOT SPOT protection as standard. Specialist software is available for PC connection for detailed setting, monitoring, automatic pressure control, and error analysis.

Impellers and Motors

The impellers are aerodynamically designed backward curved centrifugal types, computer-matched with the EC/DC external rotor motor. They are factory balanced to ISO 1940 G6.3 for quiet, vibration-free operation. Blades and motor housing are made from sheet steel or polyamid.

Motors are suitable for 230V / 1 phase / 50 Hz or 60 Hz supply via the built-in controller. They are protected to IP42, comply with BS EN 60034-5, and feature Class F insulation for operation between -15°C and +40°C. Motors are wound for a 48-volt electrical supply from the main controller.

Terminal Box

All models include an externally mounting Isolator protected to IP55, ensuring suitability for external installation.

Performance and Quality Assurance

Fan performance is tested in accordance with BS848 Part 1 1980, and sound levels are measured in a reverberant chamber according to BS848 Part 2 1985. Design and manufacture adhere to BS EN ISO 9001 quality management system standards.
