Preliminary Instructions
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING
CAUTION: DISCONNECT YOUR VEHICLE'S NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE INSTALLATION TO PREVENT ELECTRICAL DAMAGE. USE OF A VOLT/OHM METER IS RECOMMENDED OVER A TEST LIGHT FOR CHECKING WIRING. A TEST LIGHT OR GROUNDED WIRE PROBE CAN DAMAGE THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER AND/OR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS. AVOID ALL FACTORY AIRBAG WIRING, AS AIR BAGS CAN ACCIDENTALLY DEPLOY, CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
- Consult your vehicle's specific instructions for any special tools required for installation.
- Read all instructions accompanying your car stereo for proper wiring and mounting procedures.

Mounting the Aftermarket Stereo
Double DIN Installation
BEFORE BEGINNING: Refer to the Factory Stereo Removal section (pages 6-8) to determine the proper kit configuration for your vehicle.
General Steps (Figures 1-6):
- After removing specified tabs, snap the mounting brackets (7022, 7021) to the trim panel (7019) as shown in the diagrams.
- Slide the Double-DIN head unit into the back of the kit. Align screw holes with the mounting slots on the brackets and secure in place using screws supplied with the aftermarket stereo.
Note on Figures 1-6: These figures illustrate various ways to attach the brackets and spacers (7023 & 7024) to the trim panel and then mount the double-DIN stereo. Instructions indicate to cut at score lines and discard shaded portions or shaded tabs on the brackets as needed. When using spacers, attach the kit to the vehicle dash with supplied black screws.
Double DIN Installation (Figure 7)
NOTE: This installation requires modification of the dash bezel due to the nosepiece height of double-DIN stereos. Document any modifications if the original unit is to be re-installed later.
- Carefully file or grind away the top and bottom portions of the small lip around the inside of the dash bezel's stereo opening.
- Push the 7022 left and 7021 right brackets onto the corresponding sides of the stereo opening, attaching them to the lip on each side (refer to inset illustration). It is recommended to perform this step on a table or work bench.
- Position the aftermarket double-DIN head unit (or two single-DIN units) between the brackets from behind. Align screw holes with the mounting slots on the brackets and secure in place using screws supplied with the aftermarket stereo.
Single DIN Installation
BEFORE BEGINNING: Refer to the Factory Stereo Removal section (pages 6-8) to determine the proper kit configuration for your vehicle.
- Snap the brackets to the appropriate trim panel (as shown in Figures 1-6). Note: Vehicles using Figure 7 configuration do not use a trim panel; proceed to step 2.
- Align the pocket (7007) side posts to the lower mounting slots of the brackets and secure in place using supplied silver-colored screws.
- Align the single-DIN aftermarket stereo with the upper mounting slots on the brackets and secure in place using screws supplied with the aftermarket stereo.
