Sony Xperia Z1 Soft / Hard Reset

Introduction
You can reset your device to its original factory settings, with or without deleting all of your personal data. This action is sometimes necessary if your device stops functioning properly.

Step 1 — Soft Reset

Soft Reset
You can force your device to shut down in situations where it stops responding or won't restart normally. No settings or personal data get deleted.
- Micro SD card cover
- Micro USB connector cover
- Micro SIM card cover
Open the micro SIM card cover and you will see a small red button. Press it and you will feel three vibrations and the device will shut down.
Step 2 — Factory Data / Hard Reset

Factory Data / Hard Reset
- Go to Settings > Backup & Reset
- You have the option to backup your data (you must have a Google account).
- After Factory data reset, the smartphone will restart.
